If you qualify, the £42 annual Costco UK membership still seems well worthwhile, with the next best price still being £529 at the moment.

Battery testing the MacBook Neo against the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14" today in prep for the new video comparing the two🪫
❓Which do you think will have the better battery life?
UPDATE - the Jedi baseboard, which the ASUS Chromebook CM32 Detachable's Padme board is based off of will see updates until JUNE 2036. Most other Kompanio 540 models I've shown on the channel so far have the Skywalker baseboard where the updates run until JANUARY 2036.
I'll be publishing a video in the near future comparing the Neo to the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14. Don't rule Chromebooks out just yet, especially if you're already family with ChromeOS.
When a laptop with a LARGER display gets LIGHTER in weight.... 🤔
💪MacBook Neo (13") = 1.24kg / 2.73lb
💡Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14" = 1.16kg / 2.56lb
(Touch display option = ~1.26kg / ~2.78lb)
🪶Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus 15.6" = 1.15kg / 2.53lb
Did I at least get the right colour? 😅
I'm getting to grips with the MacBook Neo so I can give my comparison to its Chromebook Plus contenders - buymeacoffee.com/mergedroid/d...
Now just £386.10 for the excellent Lenovo Chromebook Plus (128GB/12GB/non-touch) with the same "COMPUTING10" discount code at Very in the UK.

Is the UK ready for NO CHARGER to be included with their new laptops and Chromebooks? 🔌 ⚡
Nice price drops on the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14" at Amazon in the UK, my affiliate links:
- 256GB UFS 4.0/16GB RAM/touch/finger print reader: amzn.to/4miQ6bx
- 128GB UFS 3.1/12GB RAM/non-touch: amzn.to/4bQrYcT
Both powered by the MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910
Stylus on charge! ⚡️ Hopefully by now you'll have seen my initial impressions video of the new ASUS Chromebook CM32 Detachable. I've now received another model with the USI 2.0 stylus. It attaches magnetically to the back of the Chromebook to charge with the case protecting it✏️
The excellent Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 "lower spec" is just £404.10 at Very UK w/code "COMPUTING10". Item 1601202393
- 14 inch OLED display (non-touch)
- MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910
- 12GB RAM
- 128GB UFS 3.1

Glad to help. Loads more on the channel that may be of use inc. a Chromebook Buying Guide. Whatever you consider, check the processor in it against the pinned comment in my profile. You'll see how long ChromeOS updates will last and therefore whether you're getting a relatively new model or not.
I would recommend benchmarking deals against this: amzn.to/4uJTdwT (my affiliate link). A refurbished Acer Chromebook Plus 514 w/the Intel Core 3 N355 under 200 USD. In the US you're getting the touch display, back-lit keyboard + UFS. See my UK model here w/an ASUS to compare: youtu.be/Vl35RRZh6cs
Thanks. Non-touch, 14 inch clamshell?
It'll come more down to the model range you look at. Try and compare midrange or high end Chromebook Plus offerings. What's your rough budget?
I feel your pain. What's your approach? I find a bit of heat from a hair dryer and some alcohol rub (hand gel works) help ✅

Perhaps it's a sign of Google trying to strictly limit the support they give ChromeOS what with change on the way in the form of Aluminium OS?
Interesting to see that ChromeOS updates for Chromebooks on the new 2026 'Skywalker' baseboard with the MediaTek Kompanio 540 will end in JANUARY (2036) rather than the usual June 🗓

Lenovo have just published a new marketing video on the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14" on their YouTube channel.
Hopefully it's part of a bigger push now the MacBook Neo is about! It'll be interesting to see if we get any further movement on price too. What do you think?
