Imagine a study that found kids with ADHD have more visits to doctors than kids without ADHD — and used that finding to suggest ADHD treatment doesn't work. That's the standard of evidence the anti-trans braintrust is willing to accept.

A friend described doing an exercise w/ a group of students from around the world, asking them to write down the best & worst thing about a bunch of different countries. Answers varied a lot for all countries except for one: every single person said the best thing about the USA is NASA.

Someone with the handle @velocity69.bsky.social is sharing a video with the caption:

"The highest quality video of the moon was just released…
so beautiful

* Artemis II"

It's gone viral, but it's not from Artemis II. If you've shared it, you might want to un-share.

Delighted to be on the cover of Bricks Magazine - Spring Edition.

Real patrotism is loving your neighbor, showing compassion to strangers - and not staying silent whilst other politicians sell our country out.

The layoffs are economic. The AI disruption is technological. The political targeting of people who think deeply about humanity in systems is ideological. And all three are happening at the same time, which means you are being squeezed from three directions simultaneously while being told to upskill and stay positive.

They are asking you to optimize your performance inside a system that is collapsing in real time.

Yes, it's normal and correct to feel legitimately unhinged right now.

Every time I think I'm crazy, I have to take a deep breath and remember the moment we're in.

And we're all in it together

- Should "newly created" be hyphenated?

- Yes — "newly-created role" should be hyphenated since it's a compound modifier before a noun. Good catch.

- I thought compound modifiers ending in -ly aren't hyphenated?

- You're right, I was wrong. Adverbs ending in -ly don't take a hyphen because the -ly already signals that it's modifying the next word. So "newly created role" without the hyphen is correct.

My corporate job has a policy where we have to send them proof that we're using the enterprise AI solution they've forced on us. I just sent in this as my proof for the week.

It's looking increasingly like these guys thought that if they could wreak more death and destruction than the other side then they would be respected as strong powerful men and they would "win" and that would make them big important heroes. Very possibly they had no rationale deeper than that.

Yes, hello, is that God? Yeah, hi. I have a complaint. You gave me this brain that’s designed for finding berries and avoiding lions and now people are ‘just circling back’ to see if we can ‘move the needle’ on ‘key initiatives’? NONE of those things are berries.

When an illegal war, likely to cause mass murder, is launched, we have a choice of 2 positions:
1. It's wrong and has to stop.
2. Hurray! Let's join in.

Much of the UK Establishment - Conservatives, Reform, the billionaire media - went straight for Option 2.
Which tells you all you need to know.

Reaching net zero by 2050 ‘cheaper for UK than one fossil fuel crisis’ Climate change committee finds move to renewable energy would also bring health, economic and security benefits

Achieving the UK’s net zero target by 2050 will cost less than a *single* oil price shock

& will insulate UK against future shocks

Meanwhile Reform UK & Tories want to scrap net zero targets on the grounds of 'cost' - so either foolish or doing donors' bidding
