like, on the one hand, they're right! it's down! that's not good! you don't need to be a helicopter pilot to know a helicopter in a tree is not where it belongs!

you don't have to be an SRE to know that bsky being down was a failure!

every single time they trot that out, I'm just like "none of you have any idea how hard it is to keep a distributed system up under load in adverse conditions, please stop talking"

don't hold it against david, his tenuous grasp on midterm memory is not his strongest suit and his pattern recognition gravely suffers as a result. you wouldn't judge a fish by it's ability to climb trees, would you?

Youtube's auto playlist managed to pull in the Tribes 2 OST into the rotation and 1: always a good choice 2: how the fuck did you know I had a soft spot for Tribes 2 OST, Google? I was just listening to Red City Radio and Lawrence Arms and can I just say the overlap with T2 is ... non-obvious

habanada in a hydroponic setup. the world's sparsest oregano tries to grow next to it, the world's saddest thai basil flees from it's might, and the tiniest babiest little strawberry plant sprouts are next to it, like ants next to humans.

But I'm half wondering if I shouldn't leave it soggy-AF, take it out, suspend it in another large pot without soil, in a new hydroponic setup that I slowly add some kind of growing medium to from the bottom of the roots up? Like a handful of fill a day. Or am I basically slowly torturing it?

The roots are finer and not rigorous enough to take to dirt as easily, so I have to be as gentle as possible. I'm supposed to let it "dry up" so that they get a head start before I transplant, and peat moss tends to work better than potting soil. That's what I've read.

But I also don't wanna lose him, because he is SUPER thriving - to the point where he's grown past the highest I can set the light on this thing and nothing will grow anywhere near him. I've read you can do this, but it's risky.

Has anyone ever successfully turned a <ridiculously thriving> hydroponic plant into a normal dirt plant? I've got this monster habanada that has just absolutely taken over my "12 pod" herb planter and it's too limited where it is to be healthy. I need to get this sob out of here and repotted.
