Something I haven't talked much about: what exactly is The Pentaract going to do? This is probs important info for any #GameDev that's wondering how they can make use of my work. 🧵

I don't have a problem, you have a problem!

On go...? or after go?
Extended rule: you can commiserate over your dead game, as long as you're not responsible for why it's dead.
Feels really good to be free from Windows and all the ai slop tho!
Definitely some learning curves for desktop Linux that I'm not overly used to on my servers where I just docker everything.
I did have to find a GIT GUI and build it myself cause they didn't have an Arch release, haha
But I'm having fun with the transition!

the gap between how much content creators and marketers want me to care about my protein intake and how little concern I have about my protein intake could not be greater
I went with CachyOS (Arch) mostly cause I use a Framework laptop, and it seems like it's got good support! Actually the upgrade came as part of me putting new parts in my laptop!
My dev stack is almost entirely .net/C# too and Unity! Still need to learn Godot, haha
I've finally made the switch I'm not on windows anymore! Finally pulled the trigger for using Linux as my game dev environment!
So far it's surprisingly smooth compared to my previous experience with Linux desktops. Maybe not quite general user ready yet though.

Very cool!
Love my pocket flip 2, I haven't tried doing any dev for it yet though. Any major headaches? Or is it mostly regular Android?
Yeahhhhhhhhh I feel your pain. Me and my partner spent last summer trenching out our crawlspace to put in new drainage. 😩
I always did the opposite approach tbh, shoot for the moon, fail, learn a lot, go again.
Having big goals isn't really a problem unless you're looking to ship a project. But honestly there's a lot to learn before worrying about shipping something.
First day on a new contract! So far it's looking like it's going to be a pretty fun one! Not allowed to say much about it yet though!
Absolutely wild, Do we have to disable this anywhere for Organizations??
If you use GitHub (especially if you pay for it!!) consider doing this *immediately*
Settings -> Privacy -> Disallow GitHub to train their models on your code.
GitHub opted *everyone* into training. No matter if you pay for the service (like I do). WTH

OK, what are we making!?!?!
What if..... we build the worst tile editor? cause like..... I only need to make like 10 maps?

Ohhhh! very cool!
Bug tickets with "fixed itself" tags Sure hope these don't last forever
My favourite bug tickets are the once that solve themselves, cause you can never close the ticket you just have to watch it for weeks to see if it comes back.

On one hand the games industry right now is cripplingly oppressive. On the other there's so so many cool indie projects popping up.... (Including my own) It's a weird mixture of depression and excitement?

Dear Canadians:
Transport Canada is running a survey on headlight glare. Get your feedback in by April 20:

Ohhh yeah.... Maybe if you're out of arrows you use "improvised arrows" or something and it does a little less damage? Cause I like the idea of applying modifiers to ammo.
In my experience placeholders are made to be obviously bad so you can catch them before they go out the door. "As close to the final product" doesn't seem like anything anyone in the production pipeline would actually want tbh....
Totally fair! It might be! I've low-key been writing my packages to be pure C# for awhile so I can make the hop with a bunch of my tools intact. Hahaha
I think the big hurdle for me doing the big switch is the decade of really specific Unity knowledge I've built up. I really ought to bite the bullet when I've got a less critical project to play with!
I felt this way about Unity for awhile, they've been thinning it out recently tho which I appreciate a lot. Godot is also very good nowadays.
