I'd argue that one is more important too, by a decent stretch!

Where did it come from?

Indeed, but got to be plenty going spare from Germany etc that are moving towards Multiple Unit trains.

From a cursory look, fifteen coaches per day on the FlixBus website. Average journey time of six hours compared to the trains eight.

and I wouldn't be surprised if air travel is number two! I make it four flights each direction per day, five in summer. Compare that to only one day train, two in summer, plus a couple of sleepers.

They could start by adding more passenger cars to the existing 2044 hauled IC trains. But in the long run, that line needs serious investment and infrastructure upgrades to be able to compete with FlixBus which, without looking at the numbers, I would bet has the greatest market share.

Sounds like an excellent demo, but possibly might struggle to get the right people to partake? Thinking MEPs etc. Would be great if they did, though!

Still got my gripes with Rail Alphabet 2... are those dividing lines really necessary? And the 'Way out' looks off centre to my eye.

2380 now too... I believe all three will be getting special liveries.

One final run on a Mk3 set on this mornings commute into the King's Cross office. These coaches are arguably the greatest to grace the UK railway and I have been travelling on them for as long as I can remember. In the days of Azumas and Everos, I'm already missing the comfort of the Mk3 coach.

Mimic FS building a depot in France, and build their own depot in Italy?

Happy with my decision to prioritise 9 cars for Leeds trains and stick the Mk4 fleet on York terminators where it made sense. Perhaps next time, when an xx30 Anglo-Scot is running, it would be a good idea to make York pick-up only to push York passengers onto the xx33... one to think about!

Actually the UK network is infamously awful for route clearances. I'd say with our Victorian infrastructure we have one of the most complicated systems in Europe.

Passing the former Crouch End station which closed in 1954. Surprised to see the platforms basically in tact!

Today I will be mostly walking along the former Edgware, Highgate, & London Railway, well the bits that aren't fenced off anyway!

I can't draw any more circulation plan diagrams today (I'm dreaming of arrows and lines at night), so I made a quick visualization of my pet theory: "North America inherited teeny tiny main stations, with short platforms and narrow throats, and that's a problem for rail planning."

Can't beat Béton in my opinion! Although Multiservices was very nice too. I think the only 22200 that carried Multiservices is now Pink for Ouigo trains :( possibly 22347...

Yes indeed, a better chance than 20% and the diversions will only take place on some Saturdays & Sundays too. I wonder if 22378 will remain in Infra yellow or perhaps something else...

22378 & 22379 are on loan to Intercités for the foreseeable for the LGV SEA diversions for the Paris - Tarbes night train.

Sorry about that. Not only is that route slower, but we have to add extra time into the schedules to allow space for other slower trains to run. Better than the alternative which is changing at York for a bus though right?

Looks like the first commercial run will be Sunday the 22nd March...

Well I believe at the time Sunak pledged the money would be spent on a variety of infrastructure projects, some already existing, some never going to happen. I think electrification of the North Wales Coast was one of them!

Quite, the same applies to the Eastern leg to Sheffield, Leeds etc.
