Our pleasure, and keep up the great work! :)

Really pleased for them. Metin suggested we cover the unreleased Amiga version and link it through to the PC release.
Seeing people finally enjoy the work that went into it is a big part of why we do this.
Valgaard was shaping up to be a huge Viking strategy and action hybrid on Amiga and Atari ST, blending naval combat, exploration and resource management. Sadly it never surfaced. More here:

Moon Child seems to have taken on a life of its own over the last few days. Did not expect that at all!
Just a few examples of the chaos people have been creating here, all by: @agrimmora.itch.io @breezkneez.bsky.social @brickhound.bsky.social @ricesnot.bsky.social
Even the PS1 version joined in
It's almost like he was being controlled by someone who sucks at games...
Completely unexpected too. Wild few days!
He-Moon and the Masters of the Excitingly Different
2/2 - Loved FireTrap and a few others so much (Rampage, Karnov), one day when she was at work - I snuck one of the tapes from where she was hiding the box - loaded up the game and kept it on all day. Of course, by the time I got the compilation at xmas, I wasn't so excited - so my loss in the end! 😆
1/2 - Basically - my Mum brought the Big Box 30 compilation off her catalogue in 1991. When it arrived it was incredibly exciting (30 games!!). I convinced Mum it would be great to "test" the games to make sure they work. So, spent an afternoon going through them before hiding the box for Christmas.
A game close to my heart in FREEZE #83, which arrived this morning (thanks @freeze64.bsky.social !). Firetrap was a game I snuck out when meant for a Christmas present as a kid. Great interview with the developer + a lot more this issue. More details can be found at: freeze64.com/freeze64-iss...
Our next Christmas update today is the release of a long-lost Lady Bug–inspired Amiga game from the early ’90s. Mister Bug (aka Mr. Bug) is around 90% complete and now preserved today at Games That Weren’t with huge thanks to Guido Gouweloos and Galahad:

Tracked down many (most?) of the Freespace cutscene textures. There are still file format issues, since the software is nearly 30 years newer, but Im hopeful that some high res renders might be possible, assuming final scene files can be found.
My extraction tool is working overtime, this build is from July 1998, ~11 months prior to release.
For the first time, actual in-game images of Tube Racer, a title Volition worked on after Freespace, ultimately getting cancelled for Summoner and Red Faction.
Yup - was doing that making breakfast without realising! On permanent loop now.
We've recovered another lost/unreleased Super Kick Off (NES/Famicom) build - dated 30th Aug 1991.
Minor differences, and oddly missing the digi intro… despite being a few weeks older than last year's find.

Yeah, these will be just pre-renders - though the guys were getting quite close to replicating as a playable game. Sadly - didn't get quite as advanced as the concepts look before the game was canned.
A few people asked for a loopable version, so I've put one up here if anyone fancies it:

There was another Lamborghini game, developed by Rage and canceled in 2003 that ultimately became Juiced.
I didn't know about this one though; looks like a wackier licensed spinoff of Milestone Srl's then-dormant Screamer series
And a bit of my crap game playing skills!
That is indeed - he was originally planned to be an extra controllable character in the game (as you can see in this demo), but was dropped eventually in the final PC edition.
Okay so you might see this video with the audio muted. Now imagine how the music must sound like. I urge you to unmute and listen to what it's actually like because I guarantee you you're not prepared for it.
Yeah, the demo is completely silent unfortunately, but I had to overlay that tune for the shorter videos 😁
No apologies for the intro tune - it lives in your head now 😉
Moon Child began life as an Amiga AGA title before shifting to PC, where it finally saw release in 1997. A fascinating glimpse into a project caught between two eras. More here:

If there's any problems @kevedwardsretro.bsky.social & @mrtalida.bsky.social - then Steve Brown of the TZX Vault does a lot of Microdrive backup work and i'm sure would be happy to help/advise.

Hey folks! We have an anonymous release today of a very early Punch-Out prototype! There's a lot to see in it (but not hear); check out the @gamehistoryorg.bsky.social video here!

We handle a lot of NES prototypes around here, so trust us when we say this one is weird. Join VGHF Founder Frank Cifaldi for a look at this prototype version of Punch-Out!! for the Nintendo Entertainment System: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3T5A...
