Your annual reminder that just because you don't like or understand a song, it doesn't mean it's a bad song – nor are the people who voted for it the idiots you claim they are. This kind of talk reflects more upon you and your field of experience rather than being an original hot take. #eurovision

Lots of folks are putting pics of their first Eurovisions up. I can't find anything from my first two, but here's me at my third, 25 years ago, with my old pal Chicky from Ping Pong. At that point I'd never have imagined that I'd go a further 21 times!

Anyone got a link to that grumpy-assed moan from the Azeri singer about their non-qualification? Someone posted it up, but I can't find it now.

I can only assume that you've never seen me in real life. I'd certainly put paid to that theory!

Lean in troops, the oracle has spoken. The fragrant Mrs A, after watching last night's songs, has confidently proclaimed that she hasn't seen a winner yet.

Interesting. Very interesting.

Why Your Favourite Song Won’t Win Eurovision 2025 - Really, it won’t! - oneurope.co.uk So here we are again, happy as can be… then thirty-seven songs of variable quality come along and spoil our Spring. So we’ve given our regular curmudgeon Roy

I've been having my annual look at all the runners and riders in that Eurovision next week, and I've come to the conclusion that none of them are going to flipping win! Read here for a lot of compelling reasons, and very many niche cultural references…

We've said it before and we'll doubtless say it again - fun isn't necessarily joke, you old snobs!

Ahoy! I know we're a bit late to the party here, but how would a soul get to be a juror on this splendid endeavour - either now or in the future?

Cheers!

The thought that a small corner of Eurovisionia are checking out the John Cage original to see how it compares amuses me mildly.

Good work #TommyCash!

Because she went as a tourist and didn't have the same performer visas that the rest of the band required. Charlie the singer probably got through because he's in his 80s and nobody would have suspected he's a punk rock singer.

If there's one good thing that's come out of the whole sorry affair it's that we discovered that the father of Måns's now ex-wife played Herr Flick in later episodes of 'Allo 'Allo!

Point of order, sir. The lady pictured isn't in the band. We've got to make sure we get the simple stuff right, innit!

Let's just say it was very unpopular in the hall and was met with a barrage of booing. The hall was near empty when they got into the reprise!

Charlie managed to sneak through as he's over eighty, and they'd never have imagined he was a punk rock legend. The old mercenary still did the gig with a few locals who stepped in to help, mind. Alvin's bloody furious, though!

Maintaining Trust In The Eurovision Voting System There have long been rumours of multiple simcards, friendly call centres and dodgy backroom jury arrangements. But in an increasingly corruptible world, how can we be sure that our winner is genuinely...

Just found a piece on the future of voting at ESC that I wrote 7 years ago that seems even more apt today. It's clear that nations have finally worked out how to game the televote, and the current jury system is flawed. So what can we do next to ensure fairer results?
