Ah true, but at this level of saturation, it wouldn't matter what the underlying technology is, if it was actually intelligent it would take over in a similar fashion surely.

AI hasn't always been predicting plausible text though. The term itself continues to grow in meaning as the world invents new ways for it to look like computers are thinking.

The agents won't rip through the economy that fast if they have to handle 277MB worth of tokens for just one podcast transcript.

A page from RubyGems.org that says "Password found in data breach". It tells me that it has sent a password reset link to my email.

I'm simultaneously proud and ashamed.

Ashamed to find out that I've been using a password from a data breach for my RubyGems account. I have 2FA enabled too, don't worry! But seriously 🤦‍♂️

I am proud though, because I know that this feature used my pwned gem (rubygems.org/gems/pwned) to check.

Went yesterday and it was so good! The naughty cinnamon scroll from Butter Days was incredible.

“Low/no-alc beer simulator” might be the most depressing thought I have this week.

Nothing amuses me more than asking LLMs for a joke. Because they are so so bad at them. Today's I asked for a joke about sausage dogs:

Not all events have an MC though. The comedy example is great, since often comedians have to introduce themselves from off stage in the third person, even though it's clearly them.

Ha! And as a lover of live code and live demos, I disagree! Though you should always have a backup recording.

I think my biggest pet peeve with this, though, is saying you're going to "live demo" and then playing a video.

I did that a few years ago and it was such a delight when I realised I didn’t have to make a new design to change the underlying framework.

The warning is, Astro updates much more often than Jekyll does.

My coding agent is using console.log debugging and I've never felt more validated.
