A pair of ceramic mugs with painted illustrations of lotus leaves, flowers, ducks, and kingfisher birds. The texture is pinched and mottled, and each mug has five small, pointed feet.

The cone 6 firing yielded some nice mugs. Trying to keep making, everyday.

Part of a recent body of work making porcelain hand forms to react to preexisting crystal glass found forms. I fell in love with the golden color of this Bavarian crystal and wanted to elevate it into a chalice.

Two mugs made from red brown clay, white clay slip has been poured to create areas of contrast. The texture is intentionally pinched and uneven. Red flowers with bright green leaves are painted across the surface, wrapping around the cup and up the handles.

I'm a potter working in Athens, Georgia. I got my MFA at UGA where I now teach (part time). My focus is making pots for the table, using a wide range of making and firing techniques.

Handbuilt mugs, cone 6 oxidation. Red clay with slip, underglaze, gold lustre.

Thanks! These are not glazed on the bottom, only underglaze which doesn't stick in the kiln.

On other pots I add little feet that juuuust raise the base of the pot so glaze doesn't come into contact with the kiln shelf
