👏 Canada 👏 Post 👏 is 👏 a 👏 public 👏 service 👏
Nothing proves how capitalism has brain rotted everyone than thinking the post office, hospitals, public transit, libraries, etc. need to turn a profit to be worthwhile.
Absolutely brutal line

Wanted to show you this post in English because it’s so good and we truly are a global village
lol, "let's say Doug wanted to visit Timmins, Sudbury, and Thunder Bay all at once," okay Brian, you really got us there
We refuse to provide the PM an official residence because we're too goddamn cheap, but there's a good reason why Doug should have a jet?
As much as I hate to give the Sun any attention at all, I gotta know what these "many practical reasons" are.
It really is astounding that after a decade of taking Ls at the hands of the Liberals, Poilievre, Scheer, and Rempel still represent CPC leadership.

Ohhhhhh.
Yeah, that does make sense.
I feel like if there was a big conference claiming to be against hate, and their keynote speaker had been among the top influencers of the guy who did the largest faith-based massacre in Canada, and that massacre had targeted Jews, there'd rightfully be a huge uproar.

The fact there was a mass shooting with EIGHT dead today and it barely made the front page of any news site tells you everything you need to know how fucked up we are as a country. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/19/us/shreveport...

Something that's been rattling around in this aging brain is the duality of our "shiny thing envy" of US innovation. Much has been written about how Canadian innovation has declined, because we don't have a culture of risk taking.
As we ooh and aah at the neat things invented in the USA.
You know what happens if you go up that hill
man
Canada’s elbows-elevated ambition to secure digital & technological sovereignty faces a lot of practical hurdles.
But, at a minimum, it requires disentangling government and public services from at least this one company. If they continue to operate here, everything else is just hand-waving.
The Israeli army struck civilians in the Lebanese city of Mayfadoun.
And then, the Israelis double-tapped the medics who arrived onto the scene.
And then, they triple-tapped the next wave of medics.
And then, they did it one more time for good measure.
Same question. The most immediate answer seems to be "get a flip phone and do without." Which is becoming increasingly tempting.
It's Speaker's Corner with food.
Palantir put out the most cartoonishly evil statement possible. They’re so arrogant and self-confident they don’t seem to believe their fascistic plans can be opposed.
We must get rid of Palantir altogether.

This doesn't end when Trump is gone. He's a symptom, revealing a country that's fundamentally flawed and easily exploited. Imagining it all goes back to "normal" after he strokes out is foolish. The damage done is generational, and repeatable. There is no going back.
