There are such things as "executive physicals" that are basically for rich people who pay out of pocket for comprehensive exams that include a full-body MRI and other scans that would typically only be done for a specific reason if insurance were involved.

I cancelled youtube tv and signed up for directv’s streaming service, which I didn’t even know was a thing. Gets me all the main channels, plus my regional sports network (not available on yt tv) for roughly the same monthly price.

States should look beyond Direct File to keep the spirit of reform alive - Economic Security Project Many state tax administrators approached Direct File with a healthy skepticism — could the IRS really deliver in a matter of months, and would it be worth it for states to join on such short notice? B...

Gabriel Zucker and I have some advice for state leaders wondering what comes next after Direct File. Rather than copying DF itself, we should learn from *how* the IRS built with taxpayers and created an experience that only the IRS could deliver. (1/3)

Congrats. You’re reason I keep my Athletic subscription. Hope they threw in some money for a new mic 😉

@johnhollinger.bsky.social If you’re not going to write the piece about the Pacers bringing tiki taka to the NBA, who is?

Would love to see this by home/road to try to isolate arena and jersey color.

There is another great one of these with a Chicago connection: Tom Skilling, beloved, avuncular weatherman, and Jeff Skilling, evil Enron mastermind.

Night by night, no. Overall, I think yes. The NBA already has an “it’s fixed” problem, and missed calls late in consequential games really upset fans (think of the Saints losing on the PI non-call) and a few 30 second stoppages with some manufactured drama is a fair price to avoid those.

The NBA has the resources to staff real-time monitoring of every call in every game. A challenge should send it to the team in Secaucus and if they don’t overturn in 30 seconds, the call stands. The arena can have a countdown timer and fans could get into it.

Appreciate it, man. I've been hoping more national NBA folks would make their way here; hoping you and Pelton are the trailblazers!

screenshot of ms copilot saying it can’t respond to a question

Downloaded Microsoft Copilot after the Super Bowl ad and had a funny interaction where I asked how it was different from ChatGPT and it started telling me the ways in which it was better (eg free gpt4 access) and then stopped mid-answer and replaced its own output.

It’s very bad at some thing and very good at some things. 4 is much better than 3.5, and how you prompt it makes a big difference. 4 with a decent prompt (“think step by step” is something of a magic key) gets it on the first try. chat.openai.com/share/d02b06...
