For the white women who have the audacity to call themselves Democrats while simultaneously begging VP Harris not to run again, let me tell you this:

Giving in now to what you perceive as the "safety" of a cis-het wht male candidate...all but guarantees we will NEVER see true progress in leadership

Some people think a politician who doesn’t need donations is ideal.

I don’t like “politicians” who have no need for supporters. Who can buy signature gatherers and ads and sign-wavers and door-knockers.

I was a CA resident briefly long ago, but I have relatives there so I pay attention. I am sorry to see this,* but I hope it won’t matter. Seems like Becerra has the wind under his wings.

*In Colorado, our billionaire governor calls himself a Dem but does what he wants cuz never needed to politick.

@gailgauthier.bsky.social Just finished HAPPY KID! Kyle may not be “happy”, but he’s smart & funny. I loved the magic of the book his mother gives him & how it takes him in new directions. Kyle’s voice is captivating. A great book for any middle school kid who has one or more pushy parents. #BookSky

It’s unsafe car design.
I’m another one driving my old car (2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid) because I hate the screen-based controls of newer cars. And it’s awesome to drive.

To be clear if you don't want to support her in the primary don't support her. But if she wants to run you shouldn't talk about how you don't want her to run and try to make her decisions for her. What fucking century is this? How is this hard to you? You're getting a primary. Vote the way you want.

My retired scientist husband still does some mentoring. A mentee tried using one of the LLMs to generate a biography to review the literature in a new area of interest. Husband kept saying, it’s omitted a key source. Unacceptable.

I love this book so much. Funny, smart, loving and clever, it's basically everything I could want in a middle grade novel.

A mass shooting that took the lives of eight children should stop this country in its tracks. Instead, the Shreveport tragedy disappeared from the headlines in a day. We cannot allow this level of violence to fade into background noise. Ending America’s gun‑violence epidemic is a moral oblligation.

Remembering conversations is the cruelest superpower. I gave it to my twelve-year-old heroine, so she could narrate instead of her far superior sixteen-year-old sister (who would only have told us facts).

I spent the weekend at a conference where I pitched my book to two awesome agents. Both asked for pages… So I spent last night examining every word I said around either of them, in search of the one that would reveal my flaws

Love this: “AI writing” is actually “synthetic text generation.”

Why would a time-pressed human bother to read text that no human bothered to write?
