Reader, I drowned. No, really. The caul didn't save me, and my ears are still ringing with the sounds of the waters.

There was something, or rather someone out in that cold wet abyss with a thousand weighted needles stitching me to the floor of the lake.

So, you never said if that Caul can stop you from drowning.
I looked at the waters edge, and back at those Whitby Jet eyes and I knew what he was thinking.
He was faster than me and the water was cold. A thousand needles all at once, latching like weighted stitches.

For day 30 (WATERS), did you know that the phrase "blowing smoke up your ass" comes from a resuscitation technique utilized in the 1700s, often for drowning. Tobacco smoke was blown up into rectums to stimulate and "revive" the person. This pre-dated CPR.

Balls of light have been reported hovering over various stretches of water on the Scottish lochs, sometimes stationary, then moving fast and dropping down into the water. They were the darkest eyes I've ever seen. Even the iris seemed devoid of colour. Eyes of Whitby Jet. They seemed to hold the soul of anyone that looked their way, like the way that Whitby Jet holds onto the trees until there's nothing left but a fossil indentation. And I

A circus family. A glamorous mother in a tasselled bikini, her daughter in a tutu and two smaller boys. The eldest boy smiles whilst the rest of the family pose stony-faced. Everyone including the children are heavily tattooed all over their bodies. They are posing for the camera and behind them a sign reads Circus.

Tattoos all had symbolic meanings. The swallow represented how many miles the sailor had travelled and, if they drowned, would also fly their soul to heaven. The anchor represented stability, strength and safety... 📸Todd Walker #MorbidMarch

Will really did make the most dazzling white skeleton lamp. I enjoyed him for about a year when I realised it, or the process of, no longer sparked joy for me.

I started to feel adrift, and knew I needed to find a new anchor for all my exploits to spark again.

Oh god. I'm just getting to this and there's quite a few I've written that I enjoy. But, this might be my favorite.

#MorbidMarch it's a trick of the light, surely. A smudge on the glass of the mirror, I thought. But, there it was, plain as day; a face. I cleaned it multiple times, but the smudge wouldn't fade. Sun damage? Water damage? I was running through the options when it winked at me. Now it's behind cloth.
