My local store put up a posting. Mind that we are almost paying $10/gallon of gas, I guarantee it will surpass that with our first fuel barge of the year. #Alaska

#Fairbanks #Alaska pays very high electric rates due to generating electricity via diesel fuel.
Guess what is happening right now because Alaskans actually voted to re-elect Trump. That's right, Trump attacked Iran & now oil prices are rising. We'll pay more!

Same. I just put a bunch in a box that I don’t use instead of cluttering the counter. Sometimes I try to rotate the contents from the box to the counter
Dunleavy is safe, he is termed out and out of office this fall. He should be advocating more for Alaska, especially rural for our summer fuel barge. This is the highest prices ever and he seems to not care
Wonder if Dunleavy will speak up or just kiss Trump’s butt. This is going to hurt many of us Alaskans
MSNOW should mention the high gas prices in rural Alaska. The highest ever www.northernjournal.com/alaska-villa... @maddow.bsky.social @briefingwithpsaki.bsky.social
I miss the Biden admin. Trump is costing my employer at least $352,000 more on fuel alone. Most we have ever paid.
I can ask him and see if he wants to write one as well
I work at the power plant and wrote the receipt. It’s sad that the Trump admin is letting elderly people pay their bills. If he did not pay, water would be frozen and busted pipes. No pharmacy here, medication comes by mail, so all medication in that building could be ruined.
I live in rural Alaska and an elderly man who leases a building to USPS, paid the power bill that was due to be shut off at -25°F. No payment since September and response from USPS was check is in the mail several times. @maddow.bsky.social @briefingwithpsaki.bsky.social @jenpsaki.bsky.social

Good morning
Hunger Games movie is almost like our country now with what happened today
It’s cold where I am at 🥶🥶🥶
You know when you are in a movie and there are so many previews about movies on a bunch of different topics and you almost forget what movie you are there to see…that is what it feels like watching this trump speech (and really any trump speech)
Kelly: He runs around on stage talking about lethality and the warrior ethos.. That’s not the message that should be coming from the Secretary of Defense… He runs around on a stage like he’s a 12 year old playing army. It’s embarrassing.
Basically
Just a tiny blurb on mainstream media about western Alaska
Hey Anchorage fam! #AlaskaSky
Lyndon Air Cargo is sending planes to Anchorage to collect donations for the impact villages!
Details to follow
But if you would be so kind to think of donating water, food, clothing, supplies, pet food, etc., I know everyone would greatly appreciate it 🫶🏼
Rescue and recovery efforts underway as remnants of Typhoon Halong hit western Alaska, reports Corinne Smith for @alaskabeacon.com
Some residents are reportedly unaccounted for or trapped in houses as a major storm brings high water and winds to Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta communities. (Reported by @alaskapublic.org, KYUK, KNBA and KNOM) www.adn.com/alaska-news/...
Official highest wind gust for my village was 67 mph per AWOS
Whoa - what a rescue effort in western Alaska!!!!!
A place near and dear to my heart, umkumuit, a small fishing village near Toksook Bay, has been destroyed. It was where I had my c3 culture camp that introduced me to Alaska and made me decide to make alaska my home and do my best to teach the amazing students in the YK Delta..

western Alaska got hit big time with a Typhoon. I live western Alaska, and these photos are where I am at, just high wind damage. I am lucky compared to coastal villages. Some villages have houses floating with people in them.
At least 20 people are unaccounted for in Kwigillingok, in the Y-K Delta as of Sunday morning, and several homes were flooded and carried away by the remnants of Typhoon Halong - the worst storm on record.
Damage is still being assessed along the coast of Western Alaska
