I was playing around in @desmos.com Geometry with triangles that share the same nine-point circle, and I accidentally made a pretty pattern.

#mathsconf40 reminded me how awesome the community is despite the social media lull nowadays.
Really enjoyed the sessions I was part of, particularly @mr-man-maths.bsky.social international questions... rich seam!
Big thanks to everyone who joined us for #MathsConf40!
It was inspiring to see so many maths educators sharing ideas, resources, and passion. Collaboration like this makes a real difference for our students.
Keep an eye on our socials—#MathsConf41 is coming soon 👀

So happy that @teachertapp.bsky.social have featured my recent blog about the fallacy of comparing the ease with which kids learn popular song lyrics and the difficulty they have in learning things in the classroom.

I will say, on a positive note, that @sarasoueidan.com’s course has been a shining light in the darkness for me. Haven’t finished it yet, about half way through, but it’s very very good if you don’t know where to start.
Looking forward to leading a "different" type of workshop!
Inspired by being away from the UK for Easter, we will look at exam papers from other countries and see how they compare!
Come round to #Mathsconf40 and find out more!
A diagram of a circle with a radius of 1. A right-angled triangle is drawn from the centre with the hypotenuse tangent to the circle. Above, a prompt says "What angles and lengths can you find?".
A rough draft of an idea for a goal-free style task.
I want it to be as clean as possible but need to add a few more details to make it mathematically correct in terms of all the right-angles in the diagram.
Any thoughts welcome.
Bending a straight line using pure CSS?! 👀
Another cool demo in progress powered by border-shape. It's coming to @developer.chrome.com next week! 🤩
A 4 by 4 square drawn on a grid with the instructions "Draw another square with an area twice as large."
A simple task, but one of my favourites.
How do you see it?
"If you were to give a beginner one piece of advice, what would it be? Learn to really, thoroughly and completely enjoy being shit at something. The process of learning is chaotic, nonlinear, and uniquely human. You’re getting stuck in and you’re deciding to learn a craft or technique for yourself. That is to be cherished and protected and loved."
This is good advice even for those with 20 years experience. Thanks for the reminder @scott.is 💛
