So all that to say, even in the broken healthcare system we have, it’s the very least that Epic Games could do for this family to take care of their health expenses. They have the means, and a precedent to make exceptions, and they are choosing not to.
Very grateful for Bandcamp’s union, that negotiated as part of our severance a total of 6 months of health insurance post-layoff - this allowed my family to get some much needed medical care without worrying about not having a job to pay for it.
I worked at Bandcamp (at the time, owned by Epic Games) and it had the best health insurance I will ever have in my life. Every Dr’s office did a double take whenever they saw it - several asked if I was a CEO.
This talking squirrels comic is the only comic I’ve ever read that can consistently make me tear up. And I already know what’s going to happen!!!
The recruiter I worked with when I got hired at Bandcamp told me that Tim Sweeney had gone on record saying he didn’t believe in doing layoffs. lol
My kid and I are on our 3rd read through of the @ryannorth.ca / @ericafails.bsky.social run of the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. And I suspect when we conclude it, we’ll immediately pick up the @shannonhale.bsky.social novels for a re-read.
I don’t even understand the logistics of setting up my web cam in such a way that my feet would be visible at all
I can’t remember which newsletter it was in but my whole family are now simultaneously playing this stupid thing and it’s simple and joyous!

Grocery circular mailer from a local mexican market "Mi Tienda Supermarket" advertising their Lent specials, but the word Lent uses a wood texture font that looks like the logo from the musical Lent
absolutely losing it at my local mexican market using the Rent font for their Lent mailer
These clocks can't stop me because they can't read!
I didn’t know this game existed. I’ve never wanted a switch 2 before…
Evergreen post
Picked this up on this recommendation and finally finished it. My first visual novel - there were several scenes throughout the game that really got me in the feels in ways that were completely unexpected.
Bravo @kinmoku.bsky.social
If they’re not buying some time by throwing a bag of rice on the ground and making the vampire count the grains, I don’t want to engage with it
When everyone talked about quitting tech and becoming farmers that was not what we meant
Oh no
There’s a “clutching at Perls” joke in here somewhere
The guy who took this video is 17.
The kids are all right. Be like them.
Down with ice thugs. Hands off our kids.
I put Godot there just for you, because you inspired me to start learning a game engine.
The view from Blade’s desk - too many computers, too many pens, and a framed picture of the named CSS colors by Potch
My CSS Colors picture by @potch.me finally arrived!
Will you be posting a link to the playlist?
The audiobook narrator on the scholomance books is incredible

Fort Christmas XV, constructed by @bladebarringer.com and the kids.
It’s the first time I’ve been hands off with the annual blanket fort. My stupid little back injury wouldn’t really let me bend in the way I’d have needed to bend to execute the kids’ design.
This is AMAZING
Sarah: Rian! The director of the Life of the World to Come Mountain Goats performance documentary! Rian Johnson: Oh! It’s you and one buddy of mine who has seen that.
I have never felt the urge more strongly to post a “There are dozens of us!” meme than seeing this response
I feel silly for that not coming to the top of my mind. Should have been my first thought!
