If you're into free ARCs, you can get my novella plus a bunch of others in BookSiren's January bundles - I'm in the paranormal bundle (booksirens.com/b/4633) and the vampire bundle (booksirens.com/b/4628).
The rage you are feeling comes from the same place inside your heart as the love. This is why you refuse to accept a world where cruelty reigns and the fire consumes all. You have known hope and joy and kindness like you have known water. And justice is a river that demands you do not give up on it. - Nikita Gill
The grief the grief the grief.
And the rage and love.
We have it in us to be so much better than this.
Venezuela, MN, Greenland, etc, are not "distractions" from Epstein or anything else. They are all connected in that they are the fruits of unqualified and unstable people given absolute power and wielding it in ways that profit them and hurt others. It's not a conspiracy, it's an ethos.

Our reporters are on site at the vigil - network congestion preventing uploads currently. We would estimate up to 10,000 people are attending the vigil near 34th and Portland Avenue in Minneapolis at this time.
Two in one, because I missed yesterday.
#7 - "I waited until the very last minute, hoping I wouldn’t have to make the choice."
#8 - Writing strengths... ummm... that sometimes I manage to make myself do it? 😅
In all seriousness... idk. My writing is mine, that's all I know.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but your desire to have a cottage in the Scottish Highlands, endless cups of tea, a riveting novel, a plate of freshly-baked emotional support scones, and a bookshelf with a rolling ladder doesn’t make you “too needy."
Also it's not exactly underrepresented but I love a brooder. Give me a character who seems distant and cold but is actually internally collapsing under the weight of how soft they are and how much they care.

Not sure it's a trope exactly but "finding each other in any timeline/dimension/incarnation"... I will never get enough of that.

I don't have habits (of any kind), I have a to-do list. On my list is a daily task: "write one sentence". If I do that (I usually do, because it's on my list), 97% of the time I will write way more than a sentence.
The trick (and it is a trick) is to make myself start.

A snowy bank where a Japanese maple tree is covered in snow, each branch coated like the snow is icing; in the background, more snowy trees and the beginnings of a sunset in the sky
Happy winter solstice ✨
A dark blue book cover floating on top of a smoky blue background; the book title, "To Break Such a Bond", is written in large letters in pale blue, and the author's name "Mallory Wilde" is in the same color in smaller letters at the bottom; a hand is reaching across the cover, and a shimmering white ribbon is looped around the wrist, with the rest of the ribbon falling down to wind through the letters of "Bond", and the end of the ribbon is stained with and dripping a drop of blood
Glowing white text on a smoky dark read background: "1980s, London Val has spent decades carefully controlling his desires – the desire for blood, and for human connection. The past has taught him that indulging in one will lead to losing control over the other, and he can’t let himself hurt anyone else. So he stays in the shadows, the world slipping by as he watches – until the day Margot strikes up a conversation with him. He becomes attached to her before he can stop himself, and in a moment of weakness he invokes magic that binds them together – the supposedly eternal, unbreakable kind of bond. Finding a way to release Margot from the bond means reestablishing ties with vampire society that he’d long ago severed and risking the solitude he’s come to see as his salvation – not to mention trying to explain all of this to a human who thought she was just engaging in a little flirtatious banter. But Val won’t let his own foolishness ruin Margot’s life, even if that means he has to do the one thing he fears the most – letting someone else into his world."
Glowing white text on a smoky dark read background: "Vampires can be very persuasive. If they want something, they usually get it, one way or another.” “And you?” He frowned. “What about me?” “What do you want, Val?” It felt like a test. He desperately wanted to pass, but he had no idea what the right answer was. So he settled for the safest true thing he could say. “I want to get rid of this bond, so we both can move on.” She sat back in her chair, arms crossed again. She seemed to do that almost subconsciously when she was contemplating something. Finally she nodded, stood up, and put the lid on the ice cream carton. “Okay,” she said. “Let’s take a vampire road trip.”
My very first book ever (🥺) is now out in the world.

All AI can do for me is limit the things I will discover about my writing and myself as I do the work.
The name "Popular Science" doesn't mean we shift our coverage depending on public opinion. It means we cover relevant subjects that are rigorously researched, reliable, and grounded in reality.
And trans lives are grounded in reality.
We see y'all. No matter what.

"....I assure you, it’s compelling.'
Viola sighed. Compelling used to be much more exciting to her. Now it just sounded exhausting."
(this is actually a Leia & Poe fic and I keep thinking maybe I'll come back to it and write more)

"She had not been expecting a letter. She had not expected it, and had not seen it, the humidity that clouded the air having moistened even the inside of her mailbox, so that all her mail stuck together. Everything in her life stuck together these days."

"The trapeze artist had her own little tent, like that of a lady at the jousting tournament, silken and perfectly round. She went in and the twins followed...."

At my parents’ house until Christmas and they are very respectful of my night owl schedule except they have this habit of going to opposite ends of the house and then holding conversations by no-quite-shouting at each other.

Genuinely quite upset that I now have to live the rest of my life asking if things are AI or not actually.
Librarians and whoever it was that engineered the Trader Joe's checkout system should be in charge of all logistical things.
Well, I have to brag about this.

Maybe my editing brain is actually just a gremlin that feasts on my procrastination.
My editing brain when I'm trying to just get a draft done: "This is the wrong word and you should spend 40 minutes trying to find the right one."
My editing brain when I'm ready to edit: "Okay but maybe we should check our phone one more time, someone might have sent us a very important message."
I just pulled down the last note card, oh my GOD the dopamine hit of finishing a first draft.
Here’s some Sam Kalda art to make your Tuesday a little better.
If you see this, post a vampire that isn’t Dracula.
