i like some of the tools for atproto, but i feel like everyone really downplays how serious the "everything is public data" features are
yeah, foursquare for atproto would be cool, but do you know how many creators have to worry about stalking

i was annoyed that this isn't explained how i want in the docs so i wrote my own mini-guide to publishing lexicons:
permission requests docs are genuinely bad. we should not be shaming developers for failing to understand and follow them. instead we should fix the docs.
Writing about attested.network, an open spec for decentralized proof of payments on ATProtocol. It builds on what we learned making atprotofans.com. Draft is up and feedback is welcome.

I'm working on an "Autodelete for the Atmosphere" app. Is that something you in the #atmosphere would find useful?
The idea is giving you the ability to set rules per lexicon or per record type about when your records "expire" and get deleted.

I built most of this with my consumer-facing blog posts a few months ago but based on recent discourse I thought I'd make a few changes and share. Probably too much info for a page like this, and it's definitely opinionated. Everything is a WIP - including iconography. Would love to hear thoughts!

bruh im sorry we cannot be having a continuous discussion about what we call did based accounts again when it still remains true that the only service that is even somewhat mainstream enough for people to care about this is still bluesky.
Oh, I get it! This kind of a community board. Kind of a workaround for the missing “communities/groups” feature.
It's an account for Atmosphere apps.
It's not a "handle" for the whole "internet".
It's not a "Bluesky" account, a lot of us don't host our account there, and hopefully less will over time.
Atmosphere came from the community, we build as a community.
Don't overcomplicate it.
