No… Tucker,
you are not welcome, forgiven, excused, or given the benefit of the doubt.
You laughed on TV while children suffered and you did it for years, because the money was good.
You can rot.

Da dum tisssssssss. 🤣
He needs to pad his pockets before he gets booted and can't grift anymore.
My dad planted a wildflower garden from found plants once. A conservation agent had stopped by just to chat and marveled at how many endangered species were randomly growing next to his house. Dad didn't admit to moving them. 🤣
Bright orange clouds low on the horizon behind trees.
A very localized spot of color this morning, but pretty.

Collage of four book promos: Raven (science fiction), Home Front (historical non-fiction), in a bottle of ink (Japanese short form poetry), and Behind the Mask (mystery).
Three books fanned out on a gray textured scarf. Three Minutes of my Time & other stories: Not Quite a Memoir. The book cover has a photo of the author against a large, colorful impressionistic painting.
TOMORROW NIGHT, APRIL 21ST: I'll be speaking at the Burlingame Kansas public library and peddling books, including my newest release "Three Minutes of my Time." Event starts at 7 p.m. 📚
Could also be a good night to stop in #TheDen for dinner. 🥘🥂

A robin standing on top of a garden shed and looking up and backwards.
Side view of an American robin.
Wandered the neighborhoods a bit yesterday. This male American robin was very cooperative. #birdoftheday #robin #photography #melindabhipple
Split image. Left is a stack of four books on a tabletop and a fifth book standing upright. The cover is deep purple with a small line drawing of an ink bottle and quill pen in the lower right, title in the upper left. The background is soft focus of black and gold draperies and red roses. Right half of image is an interior page with two senryu.

That's a gorgeous photo!
I miss Carl so much. His intelligence and his kindness.
It was John Roberts, in the library, with the candlestick. He bludgeoned democracy.

My ex was an environmental scientist from the 1970s and 80s on. Everything they predicted 50 years ago would come to pass in 2050 is happening now. There are so many feedback loops they hadn't accounted for.
And even at that, they will possibly find someone/something else to blame.
Full cover of the upcoming book "strawberry moon" from Imperium Publishing. Deep marroon background with a white line drawing of a strawberry in the lower right corner and the title in the upper left on the front. The back cover has the book blurb, a haiku, and the author bio/photo.

Ooo, I love this.
Sunrise behind a tree and smokestack in an urban setting. The colors are subtle peach and yellow on the thin clouds that fade to light blue above.
A little feed cleanse. Melon-colored morning.

If we experienced that in the US, we wouldn't have to "imagine" it.
I was always told that you don't bring gum to school unless you bring enough for everyone. So,...I'll take two, please. 😍
(Man, I'm drooling over here.)
Also referred to as "sweet light" in photography circles. 🙂
Self portrait of the artist with a number of butterflies sitting on her face and hair.
Portrait of the artist's mother, hair permed, large-rimmed glasses, and an open smile.
Portrait of the artist's niece, her hair and face in detail fading to simple lines.
Portrait of the artist's son wearing a plaid shirt over a turtleneck sweater. He's leaning against a door frame.
Just discovered #PortfolioDay. It's been a while since I've drawn a portrait for commission, and I have to admit that my focus is currently on writing. But I can get lost in the detail of a graphite piece when I fully connect to the subject. #blueskyartist #drawing
Have not seen the movie yet, but read the book TWICE! Have a signed leather-bound copy. When I tell people about the book, my comment is always "I've never cared so much about an alien since ET."

Two thirds of the image is full of dark, leafless tree limbs in front of a starry sky beginning to lighten in pre dawn. A few stars peak through the trees while Venus is a bright spot in the upper left.
For #stunday - A predawn silhouette of lacy trees against a starry sky with #Venus the brightest spot in the upper left. From 2023, Carbondale, CO USA.

A mimic of the grandiose or harsh
or sanguine or sublime, we stand transfixed,
transformed by timbre in the heart. Profound
the sound of Berlioz and birds when mixed:
omaggio and God’s own voice are bound.
When music mimes what heaven does extol,
a note to shatter glass can mend a soul.
The Leading Trees: and other story poems. The book of poetry is surrounded by a ceramic white rose, a butterfly pin, a glass oil lamp and reading glasses. The book cover is a portion of Van Gogh's painting "Blossoming Almond Tree"--white blossoms on a turquoise background.

RELIGIOSO
Ink dewdrops on a spinner’s web, these notes
upon a staff ring clear, precarious
as silken thread. A winding vine denotes
which clef the maestro’s Stradivarius
will choose to orchestrate the summer’s heat.
Divining wind plays reeds around a marsh
while oboe charms in melodies petite.

I can believe it. 🤣
Don't forget market manipulation.
A very important read. I so appreciated the author's ability to translate her experience through well-known literature while giving us an intimate look inside a post-revolution Iran. An absolute 5-star for me.

SWEET LIGHT
when Venus comes burning white
into a cobalt sky
when halogen vapor floods gold
onto the street
when the wind holds its breath
before exhaling a storm
that hour
before the stars can muster
their first silver dust
before we lie down in the dark
to hide our sins from the moon
