The @uoregon.bsky.social, the CTWS, and @wsgeovisions.bsky.social are hosting a field school this summer at Fort Rock. If you're interested in working with Tribal knowledge keepers while learning about the history of human interactions with this landscape, please consider attending.

Come work with me! We are looking for an archaeologist with regulatory review experience and who wants to ensure that Tribal perspectives are heard within that regulatory process.

Just pulled up to the gate at Denver. Anyone here waiting for their bags?
On my way to the SAAs.
This proposal will negate a lot of our industry. This a Senate Joint resolution introduced earlier this week, titled A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management relating to "Protection of Marine Archaeological Resources". The text of the resolution isn’t online yet, but you can track progress here: https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/senate-joint-resolution/11/all-info The resolution has been referred to the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources by the Senate. Co-sponsored by Sens John Kennedy (R-LA) and Sen Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS). It will have to be voted out of Committee for full Senate approval, then move to the House. It’s not a done deal yet, but you can guess where it’s leading.

Heads up American #archaeologists there is a joint resolution proposing to end the protections of Marine Archaelogical Resources. Time to call your elected reps!
Thank you President Bush (never thought I'd ever say that) for signing that legislation into law, thank you President Biden for making that opportunity much more available, and thank you to the public servants who were involved in processing those applications as quickly as possible before Jan 20.
Oh! Also! Because of PSLF, my federal loans were forgiven as of December 11, 2024! I ended up paying about $26k for my graduate education, plus 10 years of public service (which is still ongoing, albeit for a Tribe)!
It's better to contact me via email, since I only sign into this once every couple of months, but yeah.
Hey, I don't really use social media for professional purposes anymore, but in case people weren't aware, EJScreen is down (thanks to the Elon/Trump administration), but I downloaded the dataset 2 days ago. If anyone wants it, let me know.
Sharing for a friend: The San Jose State University Sociology Dept is looking for an individual with a graduate degree in Native American Studies to teach 1-2 intro classes. The posting at jobs.sjsu.edu/en-us/job/54... is for a pool from which they hire. Closing deadline is ASAP.
Spreading the word! If you're an archaeologist who would like to work for one of the best SHPOs, please apply!
