The Dem Party also has a leadership problem. Since Clinton's defeat in 2016 there has been a leadership void. Biden's expected transition presidency meant people were always waiting for the next voice. When it finally became Harris, she didn't embrace many of their issues, relying mostly on vibes.
This is an interesting and important question. Edsall talked to several experts, but no young people. AI and TikTok seem like scapegoats that miss broader dynamics. There are still significant feelings of alienation amongst young Democrats after Palestine protests.
