4 GOATs!

I do think Fig being sneaky in transitions and brutal in the clinch can mess with Yan a little (seeing his reactions against Song threatening stuff like that), but Yan has more options in-close, and Fig's newer "crafty backfoot-counter nullifying" type game gives Yan a lot of trials to find ways in

Yeah, imo Fig's route here classically would be pressure-counters, forcing Yan to be more predictable on the backfoot to counter shifts/handfighting and beating up his body under the guard

But now don't think he can pressure/swarm for 5, which makes counters harder, and shortchanges the whole thing

I wish I believed more in Figueiredo physically here

I think he's absolutely clever enough and broadly-skilled enough to make Yan struggle, particularly in Moreno 1 form where he could take the front foot and swarm consistently. Tough to beat Yan while jerry-rigging around physical decline though

Alright, looks like finally the parade is headed here. So here's the Substack, to read stuff on fighting occasionally and non-fighting even less occasionally
