I feel for you. And, I promise, I will continue to do so as I watch Akira this evening in Waterloo IMAX.

Amazingly good eye. Yes, I moved here two years ago in June and last spring/summer the wisteria pods grew. I'm not sure whether to leave them or cut them. Anyway, the wisteria is flowering now (I'm sure yours must be doing the same) and looks lovely!
This literally happened to me two days ago!
America: You need to re-learn that corruption is real, politics attracts it, and that you need to stamp that shit out like you weigh 300 pounds and wear hobnail boots. And that includes every arsesling paid or motivated to overlook it.
This is an important point to remember every time some yahoo politician who wants to defund the NSF reads the title of a grant in dumbstruck tones: "They're studying the venom of Gila monsters? What? Who's *that* for?"
All of us, Gomer. It's how science actually works.
Americans fighting over their *genuine* culture. As a British man who recognises how just much we've appropriated/borrowed/stolen from other cultures, may I say: cute.
There *has* to be enough of you to understand that this is the right approach to politics (ie empathy, humility, mutual support). Cos if there isn't, you are *fucked*.
That is a genuinely terrific way to live your lives and ensure your kids get a grounding in empathy. Good for you!
(And let's not forget that failing football teams need sympathy too.)
It's this psychotic shit that causes righteous outrage *and* fuels already raging anti-semitism fires. Everyone, including Israel, is a loser (except Netanyahu, it seems).
Speaking as a late Gen X with old Boomer parents, I'm sympathetic. They're not quite in Reform territory but have many sympathies, mainly from daily reading of The Telegraph. Political conversations are minefields these days (having a pretty limp Labour govt doesn't bolster my rebuttals!).
The comments on that piece are filled to the brim with renewable haters, claiming it's all a waste of money. I think we can disagree on methods of delivery, but sticking to that line after the past month suggests either a highly myopic view of the world or an...incentivised one.
Living in the South Ruislip constituency as I do, I find myself once again on the opposite side of a divide with Putin. Even if it is just a pothole...
Proud to be a heathen with working taste buds!
Can't we all agree it should be curry sauce *and* gravy, for some variety?
Very Ukrainian accent:
"Oh Mr Vance, is it hard to negotiate peace?
Is it difficult to come to a deal when both sides have fundamentally irreconcilable positions on key issues?
Does not being able to trust your counterparty make things tricky?
Why do you hate peace, Mr Vance?"
Just to be clear: it isn't *you* going around and pulling posters down?
The moon is completely overrated. So are sunsets.

European pilsners for hot summer days. Otherwise send me your bitters, pale ales or coffee stouts.
I guess...although the fact he went through casting, was cast, was fully on board and then got pulled so late Viggo had to go into the filming with no sword training suggests a pretty urgent and last minute change in direction!
Peter Jackson replacing Stuart Townsend at the last min with Viggo Mortensen for Lord of the Rings.
Is there an alternate universe where Stuart Townsend is a major star, duelling with Jared Leto for all the big roles?
was that Melania speech one of Iran’s demands
I think for the UK, wind is going to be bigger, but solar needs to be far more prominent here too.
The rainfall of Namibia, 🇳🇦 where millions of water lilies bloom all at once
Amid the general feelings of dread and fear this is at least a slight bit of good news.

This is a view of Mount Fuji seen through cherry blossoms in full bloom in a mountain garden… a once-a-year kind of magic you don’t just pass by. 🌸✨
