If I can give you some specific, beginner level advice, it’s to make sure you BLOCK way more often (when you’re walking around, after you get knocked down, etc), and to understand how a basic combo works. Close slash > far slash > heavy slash > special move is a common, basic combo.

It's probably not surprising but, a lot of people who hate this game do so because they think it's part of the "woke mind virus" or some shit, and actively deny Bridget's trans-ness. It's some insane shit for real.

I'm just so fucking tired of people shitting on this incredible video game. There is so much stupid fucking discourse around how shit Guilty Gear Strive is, mostly said by people who don't play the games enough to know what the fuck they're even talking about. This game is SICK!

None of that stuff has been lost in Strive. In fact, all of those positive points are more accessible to the average person, and have gotten a TON of people into fighting games overall. Not only that, but the game has a MASSIVELY high skill ceiling. This is not a "baby game".

It's also a game with so much creativity. Roman Cancel is the BEST MECHANIC in ANY fighting game, bar none. I don't think many people think about what RC turns the game into, how it influences decision making at every level of play, how it lets you FUCK SOMEONE UP. It's so good.

There's no other fighting game series that gets you thinking about (and rewards) AGGRESSION in the way that Guilty Gear does. It's a game about GETTING IN SOMEONE'S ASS!!! It's about twerking nasty style on somebody, and nobody in the space does it like Guilty Gear does it.

Can we talk about how fucking awesome Guilty Gear Strive is? Like, for real. Guilty Gear is really good in general (Xrd and +R are sick), but Strive was my first fighting game, and even though I have nearly 700 hours in it, I still come back to it almost every day.

Finally got back into Celestial in Strive! This is the first time I feel like I've really, truly earned it I think. I've been practicing so hard lately.

Feel like it’s also given me a perspective on what it takes to from being an “ok/decent” player to a “pretty good” player. It’s something I wanna make a video about.

Guess I will update y'all on my continued fighting game progress. I’ve probably gotten better at Strive in the past 2 months than I have in the past YEAR, because I found some people at a local I could go to who were challenging. It’s been great fun to meaningfully improve and have people to beat!

If anyone has tips on this, I would greatly appreciate it

I gotta CALM DOWN while I'm playing Guilty Gear. I feel like lately, I've been getting tilted way easier. I gotta find a way to strengthen the mental.
