This column on U.S. concentration camps is the one I hoped I’d never write | Will Bunch Andrea Pitzer literally wrote the book on concentration camps. I talked to her about how they came to America.

Epstein matters, but there's a much greater story of American moral depravity that ought to be leading the news

America is building an archipelago of squalid concentration camps. No one knows where this will end. The time to scream 'Never again'? Now!

meme format where a man from an anime is looking at a butterfly and asks if it's a pigeon, but instead the man is Americans, the butterfly is labeled "basic human rights” and the quote is "is this communism?"

A major issue not to be glossed Dover

That's totally fair, it's true that it doesn't have a unique or crazy unhinged moment compared the others.

And very cool about Fønix, I haven't been to Denmark yet but I loved Lech Coaster so I'm sure that'll be great too!

Awesome POV! For me it's the first drop, stall, and insane speed that make it my n1.

But I've never done SteVe or Gwazi so perhaps I'm missing a fair comparison.

Chilling report from Brown University.

Administration advises all foreign students, staff, and faculty to postpone or reconsider (ie cancel) international travel, due to federal government's crackdown on universities.

Brown also warns against *domestic travel* -since it's unclear what ICE will do.

Help 🥹 Does anyone have a good textbook or YouTube series recommendation for solid state / semiconductors?

Specifically looking for stuff that focuses more on intuition than heavy detail.

I assume it’s the same for everyone but I still feel called out that the first one on the list is Python Ecosystem Maintainers 😒

A screenshot of a Wikipedia article entitled “Imperial Boomerang”.

The imperial boomerang or Foucault's boomerang is the thesis that governments that develop repressive techniques to control colonial territories will eventually deploy those same techniques domestically against their own citizens.

This screen is going around, but not many know that this concept is partially attributed to Hannah Arendt, a Jewish and German-born Holocaust survivor who wrote many a critique of the Zionist movement.

She’s also buried across the street from Columbia U at Bard College Cemetery.

Thanks for sharing this list!
People in many fields still use master and slave when building computing systems where one computer controls multiple other ones.
Same with tons of programs still using “master” as the default branch name on git / code version control.

This week the MAGIC Telescopes turn 20 years old! A big thanks to these gorgeous gamma-ray hunters for giving me fun things to write about in my Masters and PhD! 🔭
