Was just recommending your blog to my Structural Geology class as an external resource when I saw this post. Luckily I still have your YouTube videos to suggest.

Glacial diamictite (lower section) with stratified, outwash deposits above - stick wielding 4-year old for scale.
One of my favorite places to look at hand samples is Montauk Point, NY due to the high variability of lithologies from ice sheet deposition of northern-sourced sediments.
Very cool idea! Do you know of outcrops demonstrating these differences in brecciation?
Small world! We’re both Friends of Palmer Park too!
Anyone researching glacial geomorphology in the northeast North America, please consider submitting an abstract to our NE GSA session:

Very cool! And I suppose that story makes more sense with sediment deposition and eruptions happening synchronously (broadly). I am happily starting to revisit more Appalachian stratigraphy - my first geologic love.
That’s gorgeous! What’s the relationship between the Swift Run & Catoctin Fms? Does this also illustrate lateral (W-E?) variability?
