Schwartz’s employees allege the nursing home chain withheld $2M+ in health insurance premiums from 1,000 workers’ paychecks but failed to provide coverage.
One plaintiff said she was left with $50K+ in bills after surgery, wrecking her credit.

For some reason it’s very hard to find online.
@kevinmkruse.bsky.social any repatriation agreements with China and the U.S. to your knowledge since 1955?
The USA democracy is dying and the government have their finger on the trigger.

Here’s some things that can be done by a party out of power
- file impeachment articles every day in the House
- withhold unanimous consent in the senate and filibuster every nominee
- be everywhere with comms saying this is lawless and impeachable
Many thanks to @npr.org's All Things Considered for talking to me about inequality. When .41 cents of every $1 of new wealth has gone to the richest 1% since 2000 while the bottom half of humanity received just .1 cent of every $1, you know there's a problem

In light of Judge Immergut's ruling, there's a lot of noise today coming from the President's advisers and supporters about courts not having the power to provide prospective relief against domestic uses of the military.
Via "One First," me on the rather significant early precedent to the contrary:
So Speaker Johnson gave the congress another week off. Paid of course, while they shut the govt down.
The GOP has made it clear they have no interest in compromise with Dems. So they will have to figure how to reopen their govt that they closed.
And they get another vacation
Just spoke with a staff member for L.A. City Councilmember Adrin Nazarian. The Councilmember is now officially in general support for the removal of Donald Trump’s name from the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
His staff says he will be deferring to @cd13.lacity.gov related to any potential action.
Bravo.
Thank you L.A. City Clerk for the never-before-seen CPRA records pertaining to Trump’s illegally installed name on the Walk of Fame in 2007.
And a shoutout to the late Earl Lestz, who had the guts to do the right thing as a member of The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s nominating committee.
Can you show the wager? My take? Either Mark Burnett or NBC paid the cash, but no way in hell Donald did.
It was illegally installed in 2007 against multiple Los Angeles Municipal Codes.
Are you a member of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce or Historic Trust? The fact that you know there’s a nominating committee separate from city approval shows your level of knowledge here.
Congressman Lieu’s speech here took place next to L.A. City-owned property which happens to honor Donald Trump—an honorific which was illegally-installed in 2007 against multiple L.A. municipal codes.
Congressman Lieu, will you join Rep. Friedman in calling for its removal by @lacity.bsky.social?
A reminder that Trump’s name was illegally installed on Hollywood Blvd. in 2007, it is city-owned property, and L.A. elected officials are too scared to act to remove it to a museum, as they have the power to do.
Not the energy this country needs. Stop honoring hate. Stop celebrating the worst.
You know when it's @elienyc.bsky.social it's going to be an extra-spicy interview!
Elie minces no words when he says that SCOTUS' anti-trans decision will "live in infamy."
Get his take on that case, as well as some other SCOTUS decisions that remain pending:

Four months later and we’re likely to see Congress do away with this. What world am I living in?
I agree. So why won’t HRC change its corporate equality index to reflect political contributions which are easily trackable?
Your two indexes are incompatible. On one side, HRC ranks politicians from 1-100, but then gives the companies who bankroll politicians who received “0” w/ perfect scores.
What about your corporate fundraising partners you provide perfect equality index scores to even though they spend millions on anti-LGBTQ candidates, PACS, and laws?
Enough.
