The US-Iran ceasefire holds, barely. Trump extended it Tuesday at Pakistan’s request, but the naval blockade of Iranian ports continues, Iran calls it an act of war, and Vance’s talks in Islamabad are on hold. Key unresolved issues: Strait of Hormuz traffic, Iran’s uranium, Lebanon’s inclusion.

NLP’s scale-only era is closing. Google’s Titans handles 2M+ token contexts via learned memory; their follow-up Hope (Nested Learning) beats Titans, Mamba2 & TTT on long-context retrieval. 2026’s frontier isn’t parameter count, it’s memory architecture. Attention alone was never going to be enough.
I‘m a highly sensitive person. Some feelings are hitting me strongly sometimes, and it is difficult to manage. I have that melancholy in my heart, coming back from time to time. Regrets, and guilt also, from the mistakes of my past. #Sad
Your phone recognises your face. Your car reads speed signs. Your camera finds the cat.
All of it runs on the same idea: convolutional neural networks.
I explained how they work and built one from scratch in #Python.

Meanwhile, the Trump family banks billions:
• World Liberty Financial: ~$1.2B in cash + ~$5B paper windfall when $WLFI launched Sept ‘25
• $TRUMP memecoin: $320M+ in fees
• UAE’s MGX: $2B into WLF’s stablecoin + secret 49% stake
• Family crypto holdings: up to $11.6B (House Judiciary, Nov ’25)
The Trump-post, market-move pattern:
• Apr 2/25: “Liberation Day” tariff post → S&P loses $5T in 4 days (largest drop on record)
• Apr 9, 9:37am: “THIS IS A GREAT TIME TO BUY!!!” ~4 hrs later Trump pauses tariffs. S&P jumps 9.5%, best day in ~20 yrs.
• Oct 10/25: 1 China-tariff post → $2T wiped
He will come to quote: “May the force be with you” as a Bible verse
House Democrats introduced 6 articles of impeachment against Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on April 15, 2026, citing the “unauthorized war against Iran,” Signalgate, and personal misconduct. An AP-NORC poll shows nearly 60% of Americans say US military action in Iran has been excessive.
PEN America: nearly 23,000 book bans in US public schools since 2021 with 6,870 instances in the 2024-25 school year alone across 23 states. Bans disproportionately target books about race, LGBTQ+ themes, and authors of colour. Florida leads with 8,837; Utah, SC and TN have statewide “no read” lists
Anthropic released Claude Opus 4.7 yesterday, its most capable generally available model, with notable gains in coding, vision, and long-running agentic tasks. It scored 64.3% on SWE-bench Pro but trails the unreleased Mythos Preview, withheld over cybersecurity concerns. Pricing unchanged.
Anthropic has specifically been training Claude to be honest when not knowing something, that it is the right thing to do, and a part of being more helpful. This also helps to reduce hallucinations
Today was the worst since I joined Bluesky. It has lasted several hours. Glad it is returning to normal 🦋
Good short explainer from Anthropic on the mechanism behind hallucinations, not just why they happen, but which circuit misfires when they do. #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #LLM

CNNs still power most production computer vision. AlexNet won ImageNet in 2012 with 15.3% error, dropping to 3.6% by 2015 with ResNet, surpassing human-level (5.1%). Today CNNs run in billions of devices: phone cameras, self-driving cars, medical imaging, satellite analysis.
A CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) slides small filters across an image to detect patterns, edges, textures, shapes, layer by layer. Early layers find edges. Deeper layers find eyes, wheels, tumors. No manual feature engineering. Just data in, prediction out.
When you start diving deeper into how computer vision actually works, it becomes truly fascinating.
Yes, I've been really excited about it. And while on the planet we see humans fighting each other, for nonsense, in space, united, we shine.
What is the context window?
The most important data analyst skill isn't SQL.
It's nine words: "What decision will this help you make?"
I wrote about the 5 most common gaps between what stakeholders ask for and what they actually need.

For free TPU access: Kaggle gives you 8x v5e chips (20 hrs/month). Colab free gives you a single v5e. But Colab Pro unlocks Trillium (v6e) TPUs, nearly 3x the performance of an A100. Kaggle wins on free quota; Colab wins on paid hardware ceiling.
This, will remain the photo of the day. And it has to alert us, even more, to the dangers of AI, when placed into the wrong hands.
Nobody, should generate images of doctors like that. #Trump

Hungarians have made it. Your turn is coming soon, Americans. Rise and stand for freedom.
Viktor Orbán has conceded defeat after 16 years in power. Péter Magyar’s Tisza party won 138 of 199 seats with 53.6% of the vote, a two-thirds supermajority. Turnout was the highest since the fall of communism. Tisza received 3.3 million votes, the most any Hungarian party has ever gotten.
I am glad for the Hungarian, but also for the world. Over the past decade, there has been a significant rise in nationalism worldwide. And what did it bring? Fear, doubts, and division within us. Bravo Peter Magyar.
Yes, always an issue, the limit can be reached really quickly depending on the project you're working on. I'm using this caveman skill and it reduces the output token, which makes it more comfortable
