Cream of Wheat packaging, showing a red box with a bowl of porridge
I've been really sick and barely able to eat over the last week. I ended up having Cream of Wheat for breakfast, and now I'm wondering if anyone wants to meet me at the roller rink, play some Ms. Pac-Man, and then I'd like to hit Pay & Save and look at Star Wars action figures?

Screenshot of Audible telling me I'm at 0% on a book and to keep it up.
I feel like Audible doesn't understand how progress works. Or encouragement.
Am I supposed to "keep it up" not starting the book?
Well now you'll have extra time to *guest* on podcasts!
In all seriousness, best of luck in whatever you find to do next.
Yes, that's the plan! I'll message you to get the ball rolling.

finally got to listen to this episode and highly enjoyed it. Glory Road is a book that I both like in parts and also frustrates me (some of which for reasons that align with Seth and James' discussion)
I saw this in the feed and thought, "Oh, is that book I hated actually good?" I've always described it as a 300 page thriller crammed into 600 pages.
Excellent episode as usual! And I love the plot recaps because there are a lot of these books that have faded in my memory.
Now that the baseball season is over (congrats to the Dodgers), I can now root whole heartedly for the team I know and commonly refer to as the Football Mariners.
Go Seahawks! Also the throwback uniforms are the absolute best.
So you're a Hugo reader. You've listened to all my episodes and @hugogirlpodcast.bsky.social. You've kept up with @hugonauts.bsky.social and now you're out of podcasts.
Well, you're in luck! @klaxoncomms.com is bringing you Hugo History, a new monthly podcast! And it's terrific, so check it out!

New Episode! Glory Road, by Robert A. Heinlein (1964 Hugo Nominee), with guest James Hedrick from the Something About Dragons Podcast/Blog
Is it Fantasy? Is it Science Fiction? Is it tons of fun? Is it disturbingly regressive in parts? All of the above!

Heh pretty much. It just occurred to me that Short Circuit owes something to Frankenstein given the lightning connection. (Though that's only a movie connection since there is no lightning in the book)

While rehearsing in my friends' garage, I felt silently judged by the robot head that was watching us. (No idea what it actually was, so I'm choosing to believe it was a robot.)

New Take Me To Your Reader episode! (Yes, two in a month!) We saw the new Frankenstein adaptation in theaters and we recommend you do the same. It's really, really good!

I'm kind of behind the Blue Jays for the World Series this year (mostly because they eliminated my favorite team), but Good Lord if I have to hear one more whiny Jays fan (or manager) talk about how Springer got booed when he got hit by a pitch, I'm buying some Dodgers gear. It didn't happen.
