Best advice on networking: Focus on being interested not interesting.
People who are the loudest in the room are NOT the people you want to network with.

The most bad-ass rebuttal from Tite Kubo, the author of Bleach.
Ark VCS (think like an indie contender for the Perforce crown) just hit 1.0, and by the end of this video I was hooting and hollering
Yeah I doubt I'll use this on current Unreal project cus (Unreal has tight links to Perforce) but next project? Oh hot damn mebs yes www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSnI...
"restored to the way the developers originally intended it" / "remastered to the style the devs envisioned but wasn't technically possible at the time" is a fantasy
There is no platonic ideal. Every game is constructed out of the choices its developers made. Changing that makes it a different game
tbqh I'm not even sure what people mean when they say "indie will save us". save who. save what. do you just mean "well interesting indie games will continue to come out"? sure. do you mean "indie games can absorb the tens of thousands of workers laid off from AAA studios"? that's insane
The thing about a call to action is that once you've achieved your initial goal of visibility, you have to follow it with an actionable goal otherwise it's just self-soothing via gestures. This post is about the current No Kings rallies.
This amazing bundle ends in 3 days! Help us hit $10K in proceeds!
This will go directly toward supporting our community of Black indie devs who are <1% of the industry!
To help, you can adjust the slidernto give more.
That's just objectively hilarious. Do you know how funny it'd be to try and explain to child me that one of the most popular rappers today is a woman with a masters of public health who cosplays on the weekends and is collecting a check for recording a collab with Nickelback for a cheetos ad? 🤣🤣🤣
Yesterday, we were recognized in Fast Company's annual "Most Innovative Companies of 2026" gaming list.
This recognition comes as a surprise to us, as we're not a company.
We are game workers demanding dignity in an industry that treats us as disposable, even from the companies represented here.
this is also why i'm a bit scared of the articles that say part-time contracting at small studios is the way of the future.
it works for strange scaffold in some ways, but it's not going to broadly give folks long-term stability. we need UBI and broad corporate reform.
Your options for placeholders:
- Make them yourself (difficult, takes time)
- Slop (monthly sub, kills the planet, enriches oligarchs, bad assets, everyone hates you and they're right)
- Incredibly made game assets by @kenney.nl ($19.95, one-time, supports give-aways to those who can't afford it)
Attacking innocent people for who they are is unacceptable always. Israel does not represent Judaism, and attacking Jewish folks as some fucked up retaliation for Israel's evil is not just super wrong & evil, it is a small-scale replica of exactly Israel's evil.

Not to mention the complete lack of community-focused spaces (where was the Narrative community wall???) and general lack of non-meeting seating areas. The layout felt entirely like it was trying to shuffle you from AI tool to expensive middleware ads.
⬇️30%? Instead of turning GDC to Coachella its Nochella
clearly new GDC doesn’t understand game devs at all.
Bring back more talks (WTF happened to all the Art Talks?!?!😠) and make online tier so international devs can participate.
And FU for making vault access $700 fucking dollars!!! NO
Me & @imakeindiegames.bsky.social agree tell the truth Blueberry AI
At a certain point of game dev seniority, most of the job becomes scheduling, alignment, and connecting problems to the people who can fix them.
This is true regardless of discipline, IME. The bigger the company, the sooner (in career) you reach this point.
All jobs converge onto Producer
I think we oughta pay attention to the fact that a good number of posts in the #WhatAGameDevLooksLike tag have:
I’m not at GDC
And/or
I’m still/newly looking for work
Let that sink in, really think about it. Especially if you wanna share opinions on devs & the industry.

Union strong!!! 💪♥️ @videogameworkers.bsky.social
Now it's just a money grab, made worse by the fact that, last I checked, GDC still doesn't pay its speakers. Stack that on top of the problem with international folks feeling unsafe entering the US, and it's definitely driving a wedge between the US industry and the global dev community.
Protip for peeps: don't judge other attendees by the company on their badge. It will go poorly for you.
I feel SEEN! Thank you so much for all the love and affirmations last night. Winning the Lifetime Achievement award is an honor I cherish forever! Thank you @blackingaming.bsky.social and @igda.org for the accolades and support!
Thanks you to my family and community for over standing me!
Come visit us! ❤️
Thank you, this is the point 💜
if you're a cis white dude, please do not post in the what a game dev looks like. It's just not the point. Please don't

"What if every npc was a fully functional chatbot" is the game equivalent to asking in a movie "what if you could move the camera wherever you wanted"; it sounds so cool until you realize there is a crucial intent to the limits, and you will quickly lose the plot if you toss that by the wayside.
OH THIS IS GONNA BE A WEEK
this is:
- on purpose
- by design
- budget aware
- executive bonus adjacent
and they're all betting us not organizing to stop it
