This isn't standard Shenmue but a unique promo demo version called 'What's Shenmue?' distributed in the run-up to its release with a lil' storyline of its own to follow.
It's also where you see this image in context too. More snaps in the dig thread below.

I don’t think I ever put together that the infamous Yukawa meme image actually exists in playable form. Thanks for the thread!
Happy 30th anniversary, Resident Evil!
A thing I've known for a long time but not fully been able to put words on until now is this:
Long ago, before I finished any game project, my motivation was the love for the end result I imagined.
But, to see a project through, I had to learn to love the process itself of making games.

this world is still filled with beauty if, you know, where to look
the fuck are these clowns doing here
not journalism at least
This is why I keep it out of my classrooms.
This is why I teach my students to be careful/critical in their consumption of gAI.
This is why universities shouldn't be so bloody ridiculously uncritical in forcing gAI on faculty, staff and students.
We're inculcating dependence on a catastrophic scale
🥟
My mistake then!
Doesn’t seem to be the case that the games are taken out of GOG. Resident Evil games and BoF4 are all still available.
This Chun Li porcelain corner room is taking foreverrrrrr but I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel ,, it’s there it’s almost there
Still at it 🫖☕️

It’s also cool that after finishing the contract to Arachne you’re just left to your own devices
”you want more? oh you know what to do next, fill your belly with blue blood”
You must die, I alone am best! #streetfighter
I think Outpost has awakened something in me. I went two matches from ”oh i’m never going to get 10 player kills” to ”blood blood blood blood bloodbloodbloodblood”
Suddenly the combat in Marathon just clicked
finished reading this. it was good! What a different world/industry/everything we have now, in ways that ought to mostly be good if only things weren't constantly being interfered with by incompetent capitalists etc
After suffering a series of strokes, fantasy artist Frank Frazetta began losing control of his right hand fully losing it in 1996. Instead of giving up his passion, Frazetta was determined to teach himself how to use his left hand with sketches and full paintings.
He never lost a step.
"restored to the way the developers originally intended it" / "remastered to the style the devs envisioned but wasn't technically possible at the time" is a fantasy
There is no platonic ideal. Every game is constructed out of the choices its developers made. Changing that makes it a different game
Are you making a metroidvania? I made a tool to help with that. #gamedev
System of a down toxicity album cover but it's Bobomb Battlefield

As true as it might be that AI coding tools make coding a lot easier for coders, coders have continuously been making my life harder.
And I say this because the solution to every imagined problem these days is to throw more software at it.
There is too much software getting in my way these days!
OK, no, I won't delete that, let's just pick this apart real quick:
What I believe Silicon Valley has largely just... completely forgotten about is that people just want Shit that Works.
I can tell they're forgetting about this because their shit keeps not working through no fault of mine!
