Sandy Hook families dethroning Alex Jones by helping the @theonion.com take over Infowars so they can endlessly mock him and his deranged followers is exactly the kind of energy we need in 2026

In Milwaukee, you can request the city install a bike rack. I know of at least four spots in the city who have bike racks because I requested them!

No one: “What if we tried the Prohibition era again, but for a less dangerous drug? And we did it only for our state, with no medical exceptions, and even though supermajorities of residents oppose it?”

It sure is. Fortunately I keep meeting more American Jews waking up to the toxicity of Zionism and the genocidal atrocities committed in its name, but I suspect it’s too late for the state of Israel to be redeemed in the global court of public opinion.

Declaring “enough, we won’t die as slaves,” 700 Jews fight to their death.
This was the largest Jewish uprising in WWII & the first urban revolt against the Nazis.
I believe it was around 3000 when my grandparents met there in the 40s but today it’s somewhere around 500

Built 110 years ago on what was once the outskirts of the city, Washington High School has boasted thousands of alumni including Gene Wilder, Herb Kohl, Bud Selig, and Latrell Sprewell.
A flooded sidewalk in front of a large house
this is what nearly $1 billion in deferred maintenance on city streets and sidewalks looks like
i know literally no one wants to hear about more taxes right now, but unless we find a way to pay for infrastructure updates this could become the new normal for Milwaukee
fair!
Happy 414 Day to everyone who makes our city so special. Our best days are still ahead of us 🚀
Republicans in Congress could learn a thing or two from the Pope
That’s the key question for me: where on Earth will local government get billions of dollars to address our aging infrastructure? It will either require selling land and assets, a new tax dedicated to infrastructure, or a huge cash infusion or other vehicle from the Feds.
The most likely scenario, in my opinion, is that cascading fiscal crises at the county and municipal levels in the coming years will create an opportunity for structural reform in local governance across Milwaukee county. It will be messy, but it will be a unique opportunity for systemic change.
It’s interesting to think about what it would take to meaningfully invest in Milwaukee’s infrastructure again, as we currently face some of the greatest systemic challenges to our infrastructure in generations. We have billions in deferred maintenance and an adversarial state policy environment.

Got it — I didn’t realize that. Thank you for sharing this!
Tweet by @nydsa that reads “ "I have thought often of the Margaret Thatcher's quote, 'The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money. If anything, my friends, it seems that you eventually need a socialist to clean up the mess. " - Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani 100 days down — what’s next? Sewer socialism
first time in more than 60 years a major city mayor has embraced Milwaukee’s very own good government philosophy of “sewer socialism”
proud to see Milwaukee’s history continuing to make waves today across the country

The Dream Team failed. Total shock. We sent two of our most mediocre real estate developers and a fraud. Who could’ve guessed this outcome?
who would’ve thought that threatening genocide against your adversary’s entire civilization might not result in a speedy resolution to a worsening regional war?
American cities tell you that you, a pedestrian, don’t matter. They’re pretty direct
Good question
When I’ve spoken with labor leaders about it they say they’re agnostic about the type of infrastructure and many would actually prefer light rail or other options but highways are one of the only things we build and maintain at scale here so they just follow the money
I don’t recall but that would make sense. This whole project is such an unforced error.
💯
It will take a lot of stars to align in terms of social movements, national politics, and economic changes to enable the state of Wisconsin to evolve beyond its current transportation policy (or lack thereof). Certainly possible, but an uphill battle for sure.
