They say it’s the hope that kills you but I think it’s the expectation. I was going into Sunday with only hope and a “you can’t hurt me” attitude. I now am edging towards expecting a win and that is dangerous #lufc

1 & 2 yes. The others I honestly don’t care. I’d just like to get the popcorn out and watch, Spurs, WHU and Forest sweat it out.
It’s been a great season. Much better than we could hope for. Thank you DF
It’s been a fantastic season and a new contract is deserved but Such is football, if we’re bottom of the league in November, this season will be forgotten.
There’s always the Charity Shield. If Man City win the league and get to the final, we won’t even have to win to qualify for the charity shield match.
Our work rate has compensated for our lack of top quality at times. 70 minutes onwards becomes more difficult as we start to tire. Next season will be a stronger squad hopefully
Classless Carrick #lufc
Broke my ankle on the allotment this afternoon. Got a lump like Anton Stach but still count this as a good day #lufc
TV. Esp if there is a slight delay. Watching and thinking that a goal might have happened that I just don’t know about yet. Should I check my phone? Only to find out that the next minute is without incident and I’m wasting my time. Then there are the toilet breaks to manage, or Amazon delivery.
You’ve echoed a thought I had this morning. He’s a Marinakis type appointment. Find something that is doing ok and put Trump in charge to completely ruin it. 😂
On a more positive note, the reverse of our remaining 7 fixtures produced 8 points. Repeat of that, puts us on 41 which will be enough #lufc
Just get me to 24th May and then I can start worrying about who we’re not buying instead
Looking back over the last 3 seasons, 8 of the 9 teams that were in the bottom 3 after 31 games, eventually went down. The only team to escape were Notts Forest in 2023 to be replaced by …. well I’ll let you guess 😩 #lufc
It’s good
4 points from those puts us on 37 with 4 to play. 6 would be more comfortable but we don’t do comfortable and I’d back us to get 3 points from the remaining 4 games.
Much more insightful at normal speed this morning 😀
@thesquareball.net I’ve just put the Bryn law West Stand podcast on in the car. I’d set off driving before I realised I had it on 0.6 speed, could do nothing to change it. It was like 20 minutes of listening to 3 drunken men complaining about referees. The whole nuance changes at slow speed. #lufc
Arsenal v Liverpool in the quarter final and we’ve bettered Chelsea twice. One foot in Wembley stadium already 😉
The most frightening part of this is that I remember being in the East Stand watching us put 5 past Man U in their relegation season. 👴😂#lufc
I might be old but I remember when winning trophies was important. We used to get fined for resting players in the league, to put out a strong side for the cup matches. “We finished 12th and not 15th certificate” doesn’t look as pretty in the trophy cabinet. A week to rest to next game. Go for it.
Had that fixture and performance been straight after Man City away back in December, I think that might have been the end of Farke and goodness knows where we’d be now. . A depressing watch but not at all typical of this #lufc side.
Stopping for Ramadan liquids is no more disruptive than stopping to applaud a fan who’s died. People booing shamed the club last night, and need to grow up #lufc
Media keep telling us WHU are the form side and will pull away from relegation. Who are they going to pass?
😂 You got there before me on that one Josey.
Everytime I hear it, I roll my eyes and think, “come on now, think of something new”. It’s so boring to hear every match. I bet opposing fans think they are so clever and witty. Very sad.
WHU are doing so well that since game week 13 they have managed to move from being 0 points behind Leeds to 6 points behind and still maintain 18th in the table.
We’re all #lufc saying the final PL relegation points total is going to be massive but here’s the 18th place after 26 games for the last 10 seasons, final total in brackets.

West Ham are Spurs’ problem
My recollection was that Sprake was the weakest link in that team but tbf, I didn’t get to go to every game and there was very little TV coverage. We had to work on anecdotal evidence then.
I wasn’t sure about him at the start of the season but he’s grown as a PL player. He is always just in the right place to cut out danger and pick up the loose balls. Knows when to put in the big tackle and get the crowd lifted, confronts opposition players in a strong and controlled way. First class
It just struck me when I was thinking about the January window, I wonder how much of their transfer budget the WHU fans would give up to be 6 points ahead of #lufc?
