The most inspiring chapters in our nation's history came when Americans faced down some of our country's darkest demons.

Those moments, like our own, were difficult to live through but also brought the chance to bring out the best in us, with enduring consequences.

Gavin Newsom is not a perfect person by any stretch of the imagination but his no-bullshit direct call-out of Trump‘s authoritarianism makes him the right leader for this moment. He is leaps and bounds better for this moment than anybody. I wish the national Democrats took notes.

Give Gavin Newsom credit for fighting back. I see very few other Dems doing anywhere near the same.
