Climate change threatens the future of the planet.

Putin threatens European security.

The UK has extra problems caused by Brexit

Yet, British media & politics is obsessed about a stupid ambassador appointment 2 years ago…

Mahmood: White liberals who want to put me in a box can f--- off Home Secretary responds to heckler claiming she is trying to ‘out-Reform Reform’ with tough stance on immigration

“I do think there is that element of it which is: ‘How dare you, a brown woman, say a thing that we white liberals think you’re not allowed to say?’
No Shabana Mahmood, it's more like "How dare you, a Labour MP, spout far-right white nationalist talking points and remove rights from refugees"

Another reform typo. They forgot the N before the T in Nigelcutmybills.

This morning I’ve seen Olly Robbins’s appearance before the select committee described as ‘box office’, while a commentator flagged up another key political moment with the words ‘bring the popcorn’.

That’s one of our main problems right there.

Of course we shouldn’t drill for more oil in the North Sea – we cancelled further exploitation for a reason | Bill McGuire We are at a critical point in the climate emergency and already struggling to meet emissions reduction targets. The UK government must hold its nerve, says Bill McGuire, professor emeritus of geophysi...

Another day, another fossil fuel fossil arguing on #r4today telling us that we should expand our drilling in the North Sea. Why is it better for our economy to invest in fossil fuels, rather than in uk renewables?

Anyway. Reminder why we shouldn’t.

having a persuasive narrative, bringing ppl with him - particularly in his own party, being able to frame & win an argument to drive through the change he was voted in for. At the moment I think he’s a decent man, & has done some good things, but i don’t think he’s a good politician.

I agree that this country will be in a better place for this government & fwiw I don’t want him to go. But he’s (sadly) not a skilled politician in that he’s not managing the government or his party well. He outsources his judgment to others & throws them under a bus when things go wrong.

It is pure evil. It’s the politics of grievance. But it’s they who offer nothing except hate & decline.

Look at the EU, coming over here, encouraging investment.
Look at those immigrants, coming over here, working hard for the country.
Look at the ECHR infiltrating our laws and giving us rights.

These ppl are the worst. & no surprises that the bbc offers a platform & fails to challenge.

Has Zahawi nothing to say about refugees, given that he is one himself?

1 day ago 2 0 1 0

That’s a great point. Who’s going to do all the vetting? Who’s going to be their version of ICE? All these ppl will be paid for by the state, which they want to cut. Apart from being absolutely the worst ppl, they’re also just not credible.

Life Changing - I fled for my life at 16 to escape the Iranian regime - BBC Sounds Dr Sian Williams talks to a young woman forced to flee her Iranian home to save her life.

Would he reverse the decision for this family? Would he send them back to Iran to their deaths? Would he make them live in years of insecurity?

Honestly it’s dog whistle racism which would divide communities and destroy integration.

This is just unconscionable.

No one is illegal, & the bar to obtaining asylum is high. Reversing an asylum decision would be hideously cruel & threatening to do so would leave ppl in a horrendous situation of insecurity.

It’s not that these people still exist. That’s just biology. It’s that they are still being paid to shit in their own hands & start clapping.

Don’t they look at the States and think it really really could? Don’t they look at the corruption, the destruction of democracy, the division, ICE.. and think it really really could? Don’t they look at Hungary and think what it took to eject Orban? After 16 years?
Insane stupid & dangerous.

It’s not just the remarkable 63% who say they’d vote to rejoin the EU. It’s also the fact that this figure continues to rise slowly but steadily.
Brexit has failed and is seen to have failed. And geopolitics brings Britain and its neighbours, with whom it shares interests & values, closer together.

Spain pushes to end EU-Israel association agreement Madrid will propose the measure at a meeting of EU foreign ministers on Tuesday, said Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.

Obviously right thing to do for EU & UK (for its similar agreement with Israel).

Absolutely no excuse for preferential trade agreements with a country that is deliberately defying international law to pursue systematic mass killings, war crimes & ethnic cleansing

They’re so desperate these dried up Brexiters. They have nothing but prejudice on their side - no evidence or logic, but a sneering angry xenophobic bitterness that they hope will persuade. It will only work for the “raise the colours” flag thugs.

Oh it really can.

You put a bunch of corrupt, racist, incompetent, lying Trumpists in charge and things will get very much worse.
Potholes and empty shops will feel unimportant compared to the loss of the NHS, social care and a torched economy.

NEW: Richard Tice failed to pay almost £100,000 in corporation tax, benefiting his investment company which made large donations to Reform UK.

First time Reform's deputy leader's tax affairs can be directly linked to finances of Nigel Farage's party.

When Angela Rayner underpaid £40,000 in stamp duty, Richard Tice said it was "morally completely indefensible” and she should resign if she had “any moral decency”.

Now we learn he set up four shell companies that let him avoid paying £100,000 he owed in tax and to then transfer the cash to Reform
