We need state mandates at this point. Berkeleyans have been fighting a half decade to get a damn bike lane today and its ridiculous.

I have done a lot of work to fast-track much-needed housing, and through that work I have seen another area in desperate need of streamlining: transportation projects to increase bicycle and pedestrian safety.

This would require us to build more separate mobility paths, and/or address side slope when putting them in what is now the parking lane. For folks in chairs, level side to side is important.
