It works if you have two of them but at the time you sacrifice the land to copy the spell you have to choose a target for the copy. There's no priority window to recast the Familiar between it being bounced and the copy being created. It does work with two creatures, however.

I think Strixhaven is meant to be more like Lorwyn where there are five "obvious" archetypes (the typal/school pairs) and then five "advanced" archetypes (the Shadowmoor pairs/Strixhaven 3 color). Like, you should be able to draft a strong URG deck at the intersection of Quandrix and Prismari.
It's nice to see occasionally as a break from the regular "every set has exactly 10 archetypes and they're the 10 color pairs" setup but it's been like 4 out of the last 5 sets?

I love Angel of Suffering in decks that care about the graveyard. For added fun, throw in some Worldspine Wurm type cards and live forever (this also lets you trigger "(creature) card leaves your graveyard" effects repeatedly)
If we include subtypes, countless.
"A playtest card is most commonly a basic land with the name of a different card written on it with a marker. Playtest cards aren't trying to be reproductions of real Magic cards; they don't have official art and they wouldn't pass even as the real thing under the most cursory glance. " Clear cut.
The real secrets of Strixhaven were the friends we made along the way
How many Tops could this Top's top top, if a Top's top could top Tops?
In this day and age of Secret Lair nonsense, the bar for "obviously not real" is pretty damned high. Barring softcore waifus and RL cards (two things WotC wouldn't do) you can't ever be certain a proxy card isn't just some fucked up Secret Lair.
Also this is just WotC's view of things, not mine.
Now, the person printing and selling the "proxies" in this case is the one breaking the law, not necessarily the buyer. And there are ways to do it without using any copyrighted materials like art and symbols. Most don't bother though.
WotC policy is pretty clear-
A "proxy" is only something a head judge can issue during a tournament if a card becomes damaged.
A "playtest card" is a low quality reproduction (i.e. printer paper over a card or sharpied card) for playtest purposes.
Anything else is a counterfeit.
Most professionally printed proxies (MPC kinda stuff) does likely fall under copyright violation, which is why some of those sites periodically get taken down.
I'm not about to shit a brick over it but it is illegal
Depending what you're looking for it is actually better. You can get an Iron Man or Storm for less than their lairs would have cost. If all you cared about was the mechanically unique card, you save money that way.
This isn't universally true, though. Kratos and Jin are more.
Despite the fact that their lairs "sold out" instantly, it's much easier and cheaper to buy one of the Marvel heroes or Kratos than it is something like 14th Doctor who was print to order. They just plain sell more copies when it's limited than when it's not.
It's pretty easy to verify this by looking at the available for sale copies of various secret lair cards on TCGPlayer and other marketplaces. The limited run ones have much higher populations than the print to order ones, meaning more people are buying copies they never intended to use personally
Unfortunately I think the limited print runs make them far more money.
When it's print to order, everyone who wants one buys one.
When it's limited run, everyone who wants one buys two because they know it will sell out and they can make back their money. And people who don't want one do the same.
If there's one thing I love, it's making a lot of creatures and then using them as a resource to do other things.
For All Mankind and The Expanse.
I headcanon that the first is a prequel to the second.

It's always fun looking back at prices on MTG cards.
I don't have receipts, but my family bought a collection off of a friend who was quitting in 1995 or so, for $80, and it included both an Unlimited Lotus and Mox Ruby.
When they announced duals wouldn't be in 4th my dad bought a bunch for $5/ea

Even definitely seems like the easier one to build towards because you can use token generators and morphs at the odd mana values.
It's a shame Odd doesn't work with Obosh companion given that Prerogative is itself even MV.
