Here's my guess at who will be top three in primary. In November, I think it's likely to be MAGA millionaire Hilton, Dem political funder billionaire Steyer or millionaire entrepreneur and former San Jose Mayor Mahan. Billionaires in Silicone Valley have switched support from Swalwell to him.
Total strategy mishap, as prominent influencers like Pelosi and Newsom have not endorsed anyone,and national figures like Obama and Harris have not weighed in either. Trump's candidate, Hilton, is basically uncontested in GOP so a split is unlikely for MAGA.

Yeah,over a third of California voters are nonpartisan. CA Open Primary system resulted from Gov Schwartzenegger, a group of rich GOP cronies and the Democratic State Senate. Proposition 14 got on the ballot in 2010. It was widely opposed but 1% wanted it and it sounded good to some voters.
