Attempting to figure out profit-sharing with artists next year.

The only people who should be in charge of how their artwork is used are the artists themselves. Your art IS your likeness!!!

In any case, time for movies to slap a label “made by human meat bags,” on them for me to watch.

We didn’t get staffing minimums for any of the artists, which would have avoided this.

Lots of studios are already operating this way and short-changing the visuals. This lets them push it along further. Going to take awhile (and prob the last) for them to figure out boards, but they’ll try their darndest for that too.

I’m pretty sure this will eliminate at least 50% of jobs in visual development, in environment and character design. They’re going to run human artists to the ground to draw as much stuff as possible within a month, then kick them out to the curb and have AI mix and match their stuff.

I’m glad that the engagement in union voting was so high, but am super disappointed with the AI portion of the contract.

It’s a no from me. If genAI isn’t canned from the get go there will be no artists for there to even BE a Union. Unless they can secure this TAG is going to make themselves obsolete. Staffing minimums & protections for remote workers. #animationguild #tag

Has anyone received the zoom link for the TAG town hall tonight? Registered last week but no response.

So... They can require you to use AI in production, they are required to provide you legal defense if anything happens because of it, and you have to cooperate with that defense.

This entire section is very producer-sided and I don't see anything protecting the intellectual property of creators.

The AI portion of the TAG agreement leaves so many loopholes open. Fight it.
