I knew Jerry a little when we worked out at the same NYC gym. He was always nice to me, and I think of him every year on #festivus.

I got to do a little engraving work for Morton Subotnick once in my 20’s and that was pretty cool. This is great.

Or: Imagine if each month you could have made $3k selling 150 CDs to loyal fans instead of trying to extract 1 million streams from listeners you cannot access directly (see, their info is held in a black box by a company that leverages your music to pay for Joe Rogan podcasts).

I challenge artists who post their Spotify wrapped stats to quit handing free marketing to the platform and instead post their (👎)Spotify earnings. It’s basic math and not a secret anyway. Why are you so glad for anonymous, unreachable fans whose data is kept from you in a black box? Demand more $.

How does it feel to be thanked by musical artists for listening when Spotify includes your streams in a big end-of-year number? Do you feel more connected to the artist or to the platform?

What would that tier provide? Why do you feel that Bluesky is especially ethical? What protections are in place to keep it that way? I have questions.
