Time to start a society of people into both 🤜🏾 🤛🏾
Though I guess some games (looking at you, cosmic encounter) dissuade cuddles somewhat!

Unfathomably niche pop music opinion: I dream of a collaboration between Simon Panrucker and Lorraine Bowen, both delightful musicians with freshly silly sensibilities, and both coincidentally featured on the Playdate.
They've also both done comedy music fitness routine live performances 🌱
I have borrowed a sari and safety-pinned fairy lights into it, we are *go* for our Arcane-inspired larp!
I'm playing mostly-Victor partly-Jace but I've only watched the first three episodes of the series "so I wouldn't be too biased by the story". Nobody tell me if fairy-lit sari is a spoiler.
Having trouble mustering up even the larp-basic tier* of fantasy costume for this weekend 😅
*dress shirt and far too many scarves in "innovative" places
One of the chocolate easter egg alternatives from Marks and Spencer, it is a chocolate hippopotamus. The box says "Hiccup the Hippo. I hope you pygmy!". I'm...not sure if that's a slur? Then again, Marks and Spencer were also the last holdouts to rename a certain confectionary to Iced Gems.
They were out of discount easter eggs, so it's time for Doubting hippopoThomas!
My friend Leo made that pun and entirely disabled himself with laughter, we're sure my ecumenical bluesky followers will get it.
Also I'm in bureaucratic soup waiting for a job that I applied for in December, then interviewed for and got a "soft offer" from in February, to do enough behind the scenes to actually hire me.
I have dwindling savings, they have an admim quagmire I wouldn't wish on anyone, "Early May" is the hope.
It's a table of ellipses! A plain white portrait sheet of paper has been divided down the middle and then further into various boxes, which have been filled with freehand circles and ovals as confidently as possible. This one is from three days ago.
It's another table of ellipses! A plain white portrait sheet of paper has been divided down the middle and then further into various boxes, which have been filled with freehand circles and ovals as confidently as possible. This one is from today.
but woah look at all of these just-about-ellipses I drew
Anything gym-like, be it the actual gym, or practicing the piano, or drawing exercises, seems easier than ever to apply myself to at the moment.
Having trouble shaking the feeling I'm in my "bastard era".
Some fun hurdles for mental health have left my resilience for people, places, things, or even activities at an all-time-low, so friends have had to get used to snapping or hiding from them.
At least my therapist has some new theories 👍🏽
All I'm currently drawing are ellipses, you're far more adventurous than me 😉
Some kettlebell deadlifts yesterday reminded me why I love them and how good I feel afterwards.
My shoulder blades and thighs today reminded me why I should really be more cautious around those boys tho' 😅
A screenshot from a recent Loading Ready Run Checkpoint that includes the following quote from Coca Cola's Vice President of Global Sparkling Flavours: "We imagine a world where the irresistible taste of Fanta is so delicious, it pulls players into a multiverse-sized adventure"
Thank you @loadingreadyrun.com and Coca Cola's vice president of global sparkling flavours for giving @drkuro.bsky.social higher "does the world feel dreamlike or unreal?" than he got from actual ketamine on a clinical trial.
May the blesséd Canadians continue to keep us entertained and informed 🫡
In their desperation to "hook me" with this stuff, they leave a sour taste in my mouth that helps me kick using them "habitually". It already happened ages ago for Facebook.
Just let me use the existing functions in the best way for me. YouTube and Telegram are both services I've paid for, even 🥲
Cold take: I miss when programs let you choose how they worked.
MSN messenger let you hide or disable basically any function, meanwhile Telegram keeps yapping about its in-line textbox AI, and YouTube keeps putting more "playables" in my home feed and auto-playing shorts on open.
The Empire Strikes Back is a masterclass in sad wookiee noises, sad human man noises, and anyone else who wants to sound like a husky being washed under duress.
yoda's dark side snake emporium is so cool
idk where he got so many varieties of friendly lizard, I just wanna chill out with them
Star Wars Vee: Backpack Yoda has to have been a merch opportunity.
Store your schoolbooks in his robe, and get random verbal snippets about bewaring the seductive nature of the dark side 👍🏽
Now that we're in Yoda's Dagobah Food Hut And Day Spa, we're actually at part of the franchise where I recognise something!
Even if it's entirely from bad lip reading and yoda puppet memes, I feel myself on firmer ground, ironic for Dagobah 😛
Lightsabers are gloriously unsubtle weapons. I feel like there's a "samurai code of honour in star wars" video essay somewhere.
It's another post-hospital star wars recovery, and Star Wars 5: One Battle After Another is looking pretty good so far.
We've spotted two different women who aren't Leia! The Hoth base has featured background blonde and background brunette!
I really love the wobbly practical sets for realism too.
It's come up because I've started trying to do hip adduction/abduction exercises at the gym, and getting my legs close enough together for the abduction starting pose is really hard.
Also going to shows. I really dislike how much space I take up in theatre seats. I often get asked to stand instead.
I've been thinking about manspreading a lot, as one of the "bad bits of masculinity", and realising that it physically hurts not to do it.
I'm someone who abhors taking up space, but anything tighter than a 45-60° leg angle is a constant muscle effort to fight against nature. I feel like a golem.
The Big Friendly Giant, played by human actor John Leader, faces off against an even bigger puppet giant in the foreground, while a roughly 18 inch puppet of a child in pyjamas stands on a rock next to him.
The Big Friendly Giant, played by a roughly fifteen foot puppet, stands by a human-sized spiny cucumber, while a human child actor in the foreground cowers on the floor.
I'm stealing Chichester's press shots just to show off one of the transitions between BFG human and puppet, every single time the change was magic.
Not pictured here is small-puppet BFG, for when the big giants got human actors and the human characters got even smaller!
It didn't occur to me during the show, but they need multiple child actors to play Sophie, and the puppeteers apparently studied each actor separately so that the puppets could match their mannerisms night by night.
True artistry and effort 💯
Popped down to my family yesterday to see the BFG in Chichester, and I have so much respect for their puppeteers.
Every time they change which characters are human-scale, every prop and puppet has to change too, and they keep the physical character expression seamless.

drive carefully
we have podcast in the back
Star Wars 4: A New Setting for Indiana Jones is as good as I should have expected it to be.
Helps me understand why Phantom Menace copied this super janky plot structure, but the "anthology of cool stuff" storyline makes sense here!
Lots of fun meeting all of this with Andor+Rogue One first, too.
and then snow spends the entirety of 13-2 with no hat and a more exposed chest punching a giant chilli pepper made of flan into submission for multiple timelines, iirc 👍🏽
Sounds trés Kao to me!
"His hair guns are powered by opera"
(and other sentences One Piece makes me say)
Rogue One is definitely the most satisfying film out of 1 to 4, but since I'm reserving judgement who can say if idk film 8 (?) will turn out to be good?
I know Andor isn't a film but it's currently eating the actual films I've seen so far for breakfast 😅 (it also had at least...seven women in it!)
We've made it to Rogue One, which is excellent. Very good Star Wars yes. Lots of weighty self-sacrificial characters.
It also shows the audience that only 2% of people in the star wars universe are female, which explains the intense macho politics that are reinforcing the empire 😅 #whynowomen
