Fed debt trend over time

Federal debt trend chart looks like a crooked smile drawn by a child or a psychopath.

What went right in 1981? FED was raising rates to combat inflation - very similar to today.

But instead of raising gov spending we had Reaganomics:

cut gov spending
lower taxes
reduct regulation

I don’t know about you, but I find well-organized vegetables to be - at the same time exciting and soothing.
