The DOJ indicted the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization that has spent more than half a century fighting the Klan, tracking hate, and defending civil rights. Let's be clear about what's happening. This administration is using the full weight of federal prosecution to target an organization whose mission is rooting out violent extremism. This is part and parcel of Trump's assault on free speech, on nonprofits, and on anyone who dares to disagree with him. First it was lawfare against political opponents. Then it was revoking the tax status of universities. Now it's a federal indictment against one of the most historic civil rights organizations in America. The SPLC has saved lives. It will not be silenced — and neither will we.

Morning friends. There are still those amongst us that need to wake up.
This is a senator L. Louise Lucas appreciation post
An image of the game being played; it is night, and the moon is full. In the distance, several mountains can be seen; many are snowcovered. Two lone trees are on the landscape, and in the front, a crashed prop plane (broken windshield, broken tail, and broken wing, with nonsense call letters) can be seen. There is a prompt at the bottom, awaiting the user's input.
Developed by a team of doctors, Wilderness had a traditional adventure goal (find a gold statue, and extract), but the gameplay focused on shelter, encumbrance, star navigation, limiting exposure, and food safety.
This is fun
Billie Little had worked for Thomson Reuters for about two decades. She was fired after questioning whether federal immigration agents unlawfully used their products. n.pr/3Ovl8k8
"Trump has invoked the ballroom on about a third of the days this year, according to a Washington Post analysis of his public remarks and social media posts."
That is "about as many days as he has mentioned health insurance and 'affordability.'"

"The Dispossessed has matured my political views, reshaped my values, and changed my life. Reading it showed me how to confront a political landscape increasingly hostile to productive dialogue." —Alec del Pino Gil-Casares in The Harvard Political Review

Today, Pam Bondi defied a federal subpoena to testify on the Epstein files. The DOJ says her testimony is "moot" because she was fired. This is a textbook obstruction strategy. If Bondi doesn’t face a contempt vote, Congressional oversight is officially a myth.

Impossible to disagree with a single word that Ben Rhodes (Obama era NSC official) is saying here:
"If you want an argument for throwing Republicans out of power, it’s that they wouldn’t even [have stopped] Trump from committing genocide. That’s what toadies they are."
On the pod, @jenrubin.bsky.social is so good on the need to keep the focus on Trump's unfitness:

In October I wrote, "When Pam Bondi and Kash Patel had Jim Comey charged two weeks ago, they may have signed their own arrest warrants."
That logic may explain why Todd Blanche was so obsequious today: The Comey precedent makes it child's play to indict him.

Fun Fact: Todd Blanche is already in violation of the federal law that requires release of the Epstein files. The most powerful federal law enforcement officer is breaking the law.
