I need to up the physical intensity of my exercise, but I've been reducing my carbs (used to eat a ton) and focusing more on getting my protein and fiber has already had positive effects. At least from what I can tell. I sleep more comfortably, I have more energy throughout the day, and more sated.

Yeah, to be honest, my dad's early passing also factored heavily into this. He was only 55 years old when he passed away.
I've been going more for fruits, mainly berries (esp. blackberries and blueberries), and nuts like pistachios, almonds, and pecans to snack on too. Not too long ago, it would've been chips, cookies, and crackers. I don't mind the change too much. I do still have chocolate from time to time though.
I haven't given up meat and dairy, but I am eating more lean meat and goat cheese on my salad. On that, been opting for salads a lot more when I go out to eat with friends and family. I gave up sugary drinks some time ago. If I get a steak and potato, usually just salt and pepper for the latter.
With me approaching 40, I have been trying to take my health seriously. At least in a way I haven't since I was 16-22. Yet unlike then, I can't eat whatever and burn it off. I've made some goals. A major one is no fried food except on Easter and Christmas. Fast food, once a month. Small size only.
He's also not up for re-election, so he is "safe" to be the rotating villain this time. Such predictable bullshit from Democrats. Is it any wonder why 2024 turned out the way it did?
