Anywhere in New York City is probably fine but anyone acquainted with historical KCDA practices would be so great

Anybody on here practice criminal law in Brooklyn in the 1980s? I have a question about a document I received in discovery
Thanks for the interview Isaac. And one last thing. All of that stuff I said where I came off like a total piece of shit? That was off the record
Amorim still gotta go. This is only prolonging the inevitable
What really grinds my gears however, is the fact that the court gave me one month to write my submission, but gave the prosecution 2 months for theirs. Incredible things happen in state court every day
I’m less than 2 weeks away from having to submit a gargantuan brief and am pulling out my hair stressing over making this deadline. At the same time, in the back of my mind I know that the court is not actually going to read even the first 5 pages
Do not love when LinkedIn informs me that employees of the local district attorney’s office are viewing my profile every single week
I mean, obviously the other option would be that the charges are just flatly not supported by law, but I don’t usually feel that optimistically about the the average grand jury in reaching that conclusion
What is to be ultimately made of these stories? Are DC grand jurors just seeing straight through these charges as political fodder and purposefully refusing to indict or has the DOJ just degraded into jaw dropping incompetence?
Relatedly, I really just love the end-run around disclosure obligations with respect to conferral of benefits on a prosecution witness. If you promise a witness a new apartment before their testimony, Brady material. But if you relocate them immediately AFTER they testify, no problem really.
I always thought it was preeetty clear when the Brady court said “material either to guilt or PUNISHMENT” but alas. No state authority on Brady material reflecting upon sentencing.
Maybe I’ll just rededicate this account to purely screaming about criminal appellate law in New York. Nothing personal, just some screaming. Isn’t it fun how there are like 0 cases in NY state that discuss whether a prosecutor’s disclosure obligations extends past conviction to sentencing
Boom following. Thank you!!!
SO if you’re in criminal appeals (preferably in NY, no prosecution side) and want to connect, I will be your coolest newest friend
I have been really bad about using this site but I have just been credibly informed that most of the criminal appeals lawyers from Twitter moved over here and I need to make some appeals friends to shit-talk with
Rabbi Chanina Sperlin, a powerful player in NYC politics, was ordered to appear at Carl Miller's hearing this week, where his testimony is considered vital to overturning Miller's murder conviction. But the rabbi never showed up. Now, he could be held in contempt of court, fined or even arrested.
LETS FUCKIN GOOOOO
Woof what an unforced error by Matheus for City there. That one has to be on Guardiola right? Why is he even playing that position
It’s shameful! Difficult to even recognize an identifiable strategy that they’ve been trying to play out. I’m sure Amorim has one there, but the players don’t appear to be executing it at all
Trying to maintain positivity about United but woof some aspects of this performance have just been so….weak
I believe Judge Sooknanan is the only BLS graduate to have been a Supreme Court clerk
Brooklyn Law School up
Amorim clearly doing another diagnostic with this starting lineup.
Malacia starting for United 👀
Can’t really understate how helpful Twitter was for me when I was an undergraduate and law student. Opportunity to engage with future colleagues and seasoned veterans in the field about legal commentary was absolutely formative for me in my career. If I can recreate that here, it’s worth staying
Need to recreate on Bluesky the same aspects that kept me at Twitter for 14 years:
1. Funny nonsense
2. Meaningful exchange and dialogue around social and political issues
3. Opportunity for legitimate education and insight from established people in the legal field
United still look totally discombobulated, but the upside to this match is that it’s a great opportunity for Ruben Amorim to
diagnose the issue and excise the problem
Some great saves from him this match
Just kidding mostly good showing this first half. I’m excited for Amorim
Not enough pain in my life so I follow Manchester United to make up for it
