You can swipe left and right instead of the arrows. Yes, that’s a different direction, but it works :)
@bruciejuice.bsky.social That’s a feature we have under consideration for the future. No promises as to if or when, though!
Yes, for sure, but we’re slow to add things like that because there are dozens of things that could be configured per feed, and we don’t want UI complexity to get out of control.
The guid is a permalink in this feed, and people almost always want to open the permalink rather than an external link.
A look at work-in-progress Liquid Glass changes coming to @NetNewsWire.com on iOS

What’s the URL of the feed?
No plans for an Android version — but we’re sure there are some great RSS readers on Android to be found.
We’re 22 years old today! Shipped 1.0 on this day in 2003.
Happy that the best years are still ahead! 🐣🎩🎸
We’ve been getting a lot of reports about The Verge’s feed, particularly regarding apostrophes.
It’s the feed; it’s not us. Hopefully they get it fixed soon.
To be even more clear — we’re not talking about removing the ability to use split view and other multitasking features with NetNewsWire!
We’re just talking about not allowing for two or more NetNewsWire windows. We’d stick with just one window.
To be clear about the multiple windows thing — there are several ways on iPad (split view, Stage Manager, etc.) to create multiple windows for apps that support multiple windows.
Which NetNewsWire does. But we think maybe nobody ever uses this feature with NetNewsWire.
Do people use the feature on iOS where you can create multiple NetNewsWire windows at a time?
This feature adds complexity to the app that we’d like to remove — but not if people are using it!
That isn’t a current feature — it gets surprisingly complex to implement, and then there are odd questions like what do with unread counts? (For example: does marking the de-duped article as read decrease the unread count by two — assuming it appears twice — or by one?) Etc.
Yes — it will keep the timeline showing, but not the sidebar.
Background: we’ve had to switch to the newer multi-column UISplitView support, and we’re struggling to find a mode that doesn’t annoy some huge percentage of users. At this point I’m considering adding an always-show-all-columns setting.
New version (6.1.8) with split view improvements will be available as soon as it gets through Apple review. (Hopefully tomorrow!)
Please let us know if this happens again! Thanks, Daniel
When you say the app hangs — do you mean it won’t respond to any input at all? (As in: you can’t pull down a menu, toolbar buttons don’t click, etc.)
What version of NetNewsWire? (It will say in the About window.) If you view your sidebar, do you see your feeds and folders? Do they have unread counts next to any of them? Which syncing system (none, iCloud, Feedbin, etc.) are you using?
What version are you using? On iPhone, iPad, or Mac? Which syncing system are you using?
There isn’t — but I’m curious: do you mean categories from the feed, or tags you assign, or tags the app would somehow assign, or…?
You can use the NetNewsWire Share extension on iOS to add feeds to NetNewsWire 👍
We will take a look!
Screenshot showing the HTTP request and 403 response.
Getting a 403 response code, unfortunately. Not just NetNewsWire — got the same response using curl.

Meant for an entirely different account!
NetNewsWire 6.1.5 for iOS TestFlight: netnewswire.blog/2024/12/07/netnewswire-f...
Probably not. We don’t have an updated icon yet.
