The new “chime” tones play when riders hold their fare media (Clipper card, contactless bank card, or mobile payments) on the reader for an additional second and are intended to inform blind and low-vision riders that the fare gate is open to pass through.

Traffic Advisory: State Route 24 Caldecott Tunnel Overnight Closures. Bores 1 & 3. Contra Costa County.
Caldecott Tunnel State Route 24 overnight closures bores #1 and #3. Caltrans will continue overnight closures of Bores 1 and 3 of the Caldecott Tunnel on State Route 24 for tunnel washing, CCTV, routine maintenance, and drainage cleaning. Nightly Monday through Friday – Feburary 27 through March 6 – 10 pm to 4:30 am. All work is weather-dependent and subject to change. Bore #3 closures: February 27, March 2 & March 3. Bore #1 closures: March 4, 5 & 6. During each closure, all other bores in each direction will remain open. Traffic control measures: Changeable message signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time. San Francisco Bay Ferry - Spring 2026 Schedule Change. New schedules take effect on Monday, March 9th. Departure time adjustments will be implemented to improve system reliability, including changes to the South San Francisco route and a new early morning trip from Oakland to Downtown San Francisco. Spring Service Changes to Richmond Route. Westbound: The 11:00 am westbound trip to Downtown San Francisco will be eliminated. The 12:20 pm westbound trip will shift 20 minutes earlier to depart at 12:00 pm. The 8:15 pm westbound trip will shift 10 minutes later to depart at 8:25 pm. Eastbound: The 10:20 am eastbound trip to Richmond will be eliminated. The 11:40 am eastbound trip will depart 20 minutes earlier at 11:20 am. The 6:40 pm eastbound trip will depart 5 minutes later at 6:55 pm.
