why not have a million chess sets in the basement next to looping footage of dance pioneer loie fuller, with the queen of romania's jewels upstairs, etc, etc!?!
(my husband, jesse's pal from lincoln hs days, took me there on one of our early dates, his grandma was a longtime docent)

Founder of iconic Oregon roadside amusement park dies at 96 Roger Tofte spent seven years building the woodsy wonderland — and another 50 watching crowds flood in.

oh RIP to mr tofte! my cousins and i all grew up around his grandkids and he worked at the highway dept with our grandpa bob, they were both draftsmen. he was a nice man and of course he built the world's best theme park by hand

this is a little more on the spendy side but I got a cameo for my spouse's bday a few years back from Mark Boone Junior(my dude loves Patriot so much, but he was also a frequently recurring character in SOA) and the dude did like a 16 min long video for him, it was amazing! he even played guitar!!!

when my kiddo was around 6 months old I was taking him for a walk and two ravens suddenly appeared on the hwy pedestrian bridge. I said hello & very politely introduced him to them, and that's how I discovered my queens nyc hood has seasonal ravens (they fly down from canada for the winter).

These eager beavers saved the Czech government $1.2 million After plans stalled for a new dam in the Czech Republic, eight beavers saved the day seemingly overnight. “At this point, nothing that beavers do surprises me.”

2025 was mostly garbage, but there were some good moments.

One of my favorites was when a family of beavers built a dam in just a few days, saving the Czech Republic 30 million Czech koruna (US$1.2 million) for a wetland restoration project the government had been planning for 7 years. 🦫 🌿

‘No one knows where it came from’: first wild beaver spotted in Norfolk for 400 years Cameras capture lone creature collecting materials for its lodge in riverside nature reserve

Some good news.

“A wild beaver has been spotted in Norfolk for the first time since beavers were hunted to extinction in England at the beginning of the 16th century.”
