This allows us to delineate and highlight the ideologies, party families, social groups, and policy coalitions engaged in resisting productivism (or promoting it). We also reflect on the alliances and oppositions between the new cleavage and other conflicts.

This article presents a theoretical proposal grounded in initial empirical data that offers a better understanding of current dynamics regarding ecological issues. We invoke the concept of "cleavage" in its canonical sense—between ecologism and productivism— and distinguish it from GAL-TAN.
