This was at the Avants Portland Weird & Wacky Car Show, and it was perfect. Love me some '90s 2DR SUVs! #weirdcarbs

Maybe it's a Gen X thing, but I always pack a pen in my backpack when I travel. But I cannot think of the last time I used it (and I don't pack paper anyway!).

You know a "Weird And Wacky Car Show" in Portland wouldn't disappoint, and it didn't. #weirdcarbs

Today in "finding parts for your JDM vehicle," I'm trying to find front calipers for my 1998 Suzuki Jimny Wide. 2DR Tracker/Sidekick front calipers might work. Might not. Apparently, 4DR vented discs, calipers, and pads may work and be an upgrade. Not sure if they need a new master cylinder.

Drum and bass from 30 years ago (1996) still sounds futuristic to me. In 1996, 30-year-old music was from 1956, and it does not sound futuristic. Maybe it's my age. But I listen to three-decade-old DnB, and it still hits; still sounds modern. #dnb #drumandbass #jungle

Every once in a while, you're moved by a song from your younger years. Today I was reminded of "I Wish" by Marshall H on "This Is Jungle Sky Vol. IV." Thanks for the memories, Jake. #drumandbass #jungle

Apparently, I can give our 1998 Suzuki Jimny Wide a brake upgrade by simply installing Suzuki Vitara/Sidekick / Geo Tracker brakes. I love cars that are like Legos this way.

Kawasaki US Manufacturing Is Much More Than Powersports: Plant Tour With Stone Cold Steve Austin Kawasaki has been manufacturing in Lincoln, Neb., since 1974 and does a lot more than expected. We got a tour with Stone Cold Steve Austin.

I recently toured the Kawasaki plant in Lincoln, NE, and learned they're building more than just ATVs and UTVs. Oh, I also met Stone Cold Steve Austin! "And that's the bottom line!"

Took the Jimny Wide on a Cascade Sports Car Club road rally last weekend. It did really well (except on some of the uphill sections). I mean, who wouldn't take a lifted JDM Suzuki on too-big tires on a road rally? #weirdcarbs

Last night I had a dream I was driving my 1998 Suzuki Jimny Wide during a massive snowstorm. I was on the Interstate and thought I could make it in 2WD, but I couldn't! I went to put it into 4WD and realized MY HUBS WEREN'T LOCKED! The Horror! Anyway ... #weirdcarbs

No, you don't know everything about cars, kid At 14, I thought I knew everything about cars. That was until it came time to add engine oil to our 1992 Mitsubishi Expo LRV.

In this edition of Crankshaft Chronicles, 14-year-old me learned a life lesson about motor oil thanks to his mom.
